Am I too late for Eureka/Pagos?

I've come quiet late to the Eureka hype and have big trouble tbh. I don't know if I' missing something, doing something wrong or just simply too late to the show.

I am currently elvl3, soloed my way until I tried a party the other day. Shouted my level, got an invite of a party ranging 3 to 6, and went on my merry way. First problem, they were at the very north of the map and I had big trouble avoiding aggro, either sneaking around or just winging it through, the latter ending with my bum hurt with a death. By the time I finally managed to get close to my party turns out there was a cliff I didn't see on the map, so aaaaall the way back again, and my party then decided to move. Same thing, could not reach them, they moved again so I gave up and left.

I don't understand all these limitations of mounts and teles being locked by level, it makes it very hard to catch up. Not challenging but annoying, frustrating, and prone to just give up and forget about Eureka. It's a shame cause I do want to play the story line, get some mounts, minions and the scorpion harness. I'm not even fussed about the relic at this point. But as it is now it seems I will have to skip all this.

Now, what am I missing here? Am I really too late? Am I to solo all the way?

You're missing out on so much: constant complaining between people about not waiting on NMs, endless salt about people wanting to do something other than grind light or grind exp, people being generally mean to one another in shouts, spending hours trying to find the right party at your level only to have people leave 10 minutes in . . .

    NOPE, you're right on time

Nah, you're not really too late. You were able to tackle the hard part already by finding a group that was around your level. However, what I think will help you in Eureka is understanding most of things you listed as "annoying, frustrating, and prone to just give up" were made intentionally to bring back the "feel" of older MMOs. They were not made to frustrate you or limit progress, but they are there to present a challenge to you give you a sense of progression.

And if you die, its no big deal. Any party worth your time will gladly come back and res you with 1 of the 6 red mages in the party.

Coming from ff11, I did look forward to "elevenland" as some friends called Eureka when it was released. I just got very upset when I couldn't reach my party and thinking a tele or chocobo could have solved that issue.
Seeing everyone with pentamelded relics and elvl20 running around on dinosaurs made it look so cool, but I was too little and all seemed unreachable D:

The train is still running in Anemos as far as I know, and that's where you want to be after you grind enough mobs (ideally with a party) to get your first protean crystal. If the train is in a high level area, it may be rough for a lowbie to get to them, but once you are there, you will be safe and have people ready to res you if you die. I'm not sure if all lowbie train groups are a consequence of Pagos or if you just got into a weird group, but prior to Pagos it was common for people of all levels to group together.

As for whether you're too late or not, I really couldn't tell you, but Pagos is the section I'd be worried about because of how it's set up. However, if worst comes to worst, you can always just do the challenge log every week.

This is exactly what this format of content is designed to do. It was all part of "The Vision" of how MMOs should be back with EQ. They felt that mindless tedium was a replacement for challenge.

I am also the late bloomer of Eureka.

From my personal opinion, you are still good to catch up in Anemos area (EL 1-20ish) and the area is still alive with many players doing the Notorious Monster (FATE) which gives good amount of EXP, but good luck finding a grind party in Pagos area since most of them already in EL 30+ and the spawn rate of Notorious Monster (FATE) is abysmal.

It's been a week I hit EL 22 and stuck in EL 25 because it is hard to find a grind party in Pagos that will last for an hour or two.

That is my story of the week in Eorzea.

Thanks to Pagos, more people are in Anemos because its easier to do your weekly challenge log in there. So take advantage of the revival and do your best to be on early in the week (Reset onwards). Getting to FATE NMs is very important as they give you large chunks of EXP.

I literally just started Eureka 3 days ago. I feel that Anemos is still doable to catch up on. I choose to solo until Lv7 then I joined NM train to hit Lv10. Do the challenge log (either in party or solo). It really helps you level quicker.

I can still see people doing trains in Primal. Perhaps depend on how long the instance has been going, sometimes they're active and sometimes not so much. Just shout for an invite. Unfortunately, you may not be able to do much if the train is spawning the high level NMs. I had been leeching EXP, help raising, and dying from the boss' area wide attacks. I look forward to level more so that I won't get one shot.

Hugging the wall is what helps me get past the high level mobs solo. If you find them clustered together, try to observe and look for huge gap between them to sneak past.
But if you died on your way to your party members, just shout with <pos>. Very often people will come to your rescue.

For Pagos however, judging from a lot of unpleasant feedback I see in the forum I feel it's a content where I should catch up on as soon as possible or sit out and wait for hotfix/changes/nerf/etc. Most likely I will go for the latter.

I tried Anemos at release, grinded to 3, hated it and gave up. 2 weeks ago I started again, and got to 14. I'm not loving it, but doing it and I seem to be progressing. As Niqote said, lots of Pagos people there doing stuff.
