Its always both sides who fall into hyperbole. Its all for content that'll be dead by Sept 19, if not earlier. It's disgustingly sad that this is what you want from a game ..afk..return..afk...sickening.sad and pathetic..both on players that begged and also SE FOR ONCE AGAIN just handing everything on a silver platter if the tears roll..you all could have been 35 and have a weapon it's called put effort in and earn it
That was kind of their goal, but gaming pantheon forbid anything different than that FFXIV already does cuz <insert reason here>

If you say so.

Again, I believe it is fine to make different kinds of content. However, using archaic forms of content from a game that came out in 2002 might not be your best choice. Make something new and interesting feeling. Something we didn't know we wanted. FFXI's methods of grinding was pretty split with MMO players even in it's prime. I don't mind grind and challenge. I don't mind spending weeks trying to get one thing. All I am saying is, the grind doesn't feel too bad if the content is actually fun. At least with trains I can afk and do something else that is fun. Not ideal, but it is what it is.

I will once I can find a group... and the time to do long hours in Pagos when I have all this college work to do. You see, unlike other relics you have to rely on people being there. I sat for a really long time in an instance before this patch asking for a group of my level. And from all the people complaining of instances dying, I bet it would have been even harder closer to then. Yes I’m speaking of the past, but how can I not when I’m typing this and getting ready to go to my classes and won’t have time to get on to see if this even remotely helps my problem with the content. It's disgustingly sad that this is what you want from a game ..afk..return..afk...sickening.sad and pathetic..both on players that begged and also SE FOR ONCE AGAIN just handing everything on a silver platter if the tears roll..you all could have been 35 and have a weapon it's called put effort in and earn it
And from the sound of it, it didn’t help THAT much. So I’m going to be working on classwork when I get home, go figure.

I think it's weird that the train is handing things to people on a silver platter, but the chain, which is about as engaging and involved as playing Crusaders of Light, a game that literally plays itself, is somehow the new gold standard of good gameplay. Like, cool, I'm not technically AFK when chaining, but I basically just play with one hand while I use the other to prop my head up and either watch Hulu or am so mentally disengaged from the game I'm not even really consciously aware of it.It's disgustingly sad that this is what you want from a game ..afk..return..afk...sickening.sad and pathetic..both on players that begged and also SE FOR ONCE AGAIN just handing everything on a silver platter if the tears roll..you all could have been 35 and have a weapon it's called put effort in and earn it
Because NM spawns by having everyone afk... x) You do know that a big amount of people in the train still put work behind this? I was part of the Anemos train and even when I was too low of a level I still helped out by rezzing or going to people that died somewhere on the map. Thanks to the train barely anyone was left behind and unlike Pagos where you probably wont get a raise because that would break the chain, you just needed to wait a bit in Anemos and someone was on their way. It's disgustingly sad that this is what you want from a game ..afk..return..afk...sickening.sad and pathetic..both on players that begged and also SE FOR ONCE AGAIN just handing everything on a silver platter if the tears roll..you all could have been 35 and have a weapon it's called put effort in and earn it
And please dont forget that you still need light for your relic thus chains.
I also believe that most people want new, interesting and fun content, especially for something like the relic which often takes some time. Dont blame the players that they only do this with the train, blame the devs for giving us such a boring stale content.
Like they listened with Diadem? Also doing something that seemingly people disliked (otherwise people would not have found the train if the content was enjoyable with out) as the main point in the next part and nerf the train into the ground and put monsters on certain places to stop the flow does not feel like listening. It feels more like they were angry that we did not play it their way and thus forced the playstyle on us in this part. Just to backfire on them. They are now just changing something that should not even needed the change if they had listened to our feedback from Anemos. We did not just hate on it, we also posted quite a lot of stuff that would make it more fun for us, but they did none of that in Pagos. Thats not listening, thats following their idea even if the players dont like it.

Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

Pagos was really boring and unrewarding at release. I mean, Anemos had the same problems, but people found ways around it with the help of the train. There are definitely people who afk while waiting for pops, and I'm not thrilled at that, but there are also plenty of people like me who attack everything we can to try to get things to attack faster, even if we're not contributing a ton until we're max level.
I don't like being accused of laziness in a game. I'll put forth as much effort as I can when the reward feels reasonable for the amount of effort. Pagos failed at that with its original implementation, and that's why people complained. The ends didn't justify the means.
And Pagos still has tons of problems after the patch, but again, the train is a symptom of Eureka's problems, not the cause of it. If the content were more engaging, the trains would not exist. This is how we have made the best of a dumb situation.

Well, train, train, take me on out of this town
Train, train, Lord, take me on out of this town
Well, that woman I'm in love with, Lord, she's Pagos bound

I think the most important think here is that S-E is listening.
They are probably very busy doing adjustments for 4.4. So I really thank SE for made these adjustments now and hope they listem even more for next Eureka have some of suggestions the community gave.
Sadly, that's debatable. Because a lot of the criticisms that came up for Pagos were already there in Anemos. And what did they do? Took away the train which made Anemos bearable, then doubled down on what everyone complained about originally until they realized that made very few people run the content, and now they're backpedaling.
You might be right about them listening, but the question is what are they hearing, and what are they going to do about it. I think that's what most people are concerned about right now, as well as what it means moving forward. Because especially when you take into consideration Pagos was a manifestation of what everyone were vocal about in Anemos, that's really not a good sign.

That is a really good point. In various cases, SE had show us that she don't hear right, and make a lot of mistakes, and Pagos is, indeed, a good example of it.Sadly, that's debatable.
