I think the players who are complaining about this event also have a problem with unsyncing content. Unsynced is one of the worst and most poorly handled systems in the game currently. That sentence is why I say "who cares." I worked with a group of friends to earn my/our clear of the Binding Coils. We got our gear, title, etc. Skip a few years later and people are unsyncing it either for story purposes, desynthing purposes or material acquisition purposes. Heck, the Replica gear is more valuable than the Coil gear because they can be dyed. Why is the time and effort of ARR-SB players less important than 1.0 players?
The second "unsync" came into FFXIV, "they should be earned" loses all meaning (and if Rivenroad [Hard] still existed, these earrings would be quicker to 'earn' than they are from this event).
People see unsynced as "poorly-handled?"
It allows one to get through expired content faster. Don't see how that's a problem.

I will say this event has created some interesting conversations mainly around the relevance of the 1.0 status. I am in the camp, 1.0 was a long time ago time to move on. It was great that many of you made the choice to stick around with a broken game out of brand loyalty, I am sure many did enjoy the game for what it was, but objectively speaking 1.0 was a hot mess and many could argue that in the long run having such a blight on the record as a numbered entry in the series would have damaged the brand so they had an obligation to fix the mess and anything regarding comments about how it could not have been done without the fans and what have you could have easily been seen as PR lip service.
I expect to see many so called exclusive items being made available moving forward.
I just dont get it. Its an old item in the game.... woooopie dooo.... getting all butt hurt over bits of data that has nothing to do with your online banking account is absolutely insane.
Seriously do you not hear yourself right now?
Crying over a 1.0 FFXIV item is insane... this post reminds me of people who like to hoard things that is barely for sentimental reasons and do nothing with it except let it collect dust. I can understand if it was a picture or something extremely valuable to you because it belonged to a lost loved one... but for FFXIV 1.0? really?
Let 1.0 go.... lol 1.0 was a failed experiment that needed a full out calamity to kill it off..... mmmmmm LET IT GO![]()

People were grinding for months to get all the Ex-Primal mounts and Kirin. And then they not only increased the drop-rate, but also introduced the unsynch function. I can kill every 2.0 Ex-Primal solo and can carry a newbie through them and get him all the mounts in one evening.
That's kind of a slap in the face for everyone who spent countless hours in these fights to get the mounts.
And why do they make these mounts available for everyone / increase the drop rates, but then add super rare mounts like the Centurio Tiger, Astrope and PvP rewards? Doesn't make much sense for me.
And even the community doesn't know what they want. Asking for a nerf regarding the Centurio Tiger mount or Astrope to get them easier, and the people say you are just lazy and should put the work into it. And when they make things easier to obtain and you say you don't like that, then that's bad either, because that stuff is old and should be available for everyone and you are just a selfish person who denys other people some pixels for the sake of feeling like a better person or so.
Okay, the earrings were not available at all anymore. However, I am talking about exclusive / hard to get / trophy items in general.
LOL its a game.... I say just put everything in the tomes market. LET IT GO
Were numbers invented or discovered? How many Moogles does it take to make Kuponut rum? Answer: zero... They will give you a quest to make it.
They’re in the shop with the seasonal fireworks and Realm Reborn Red, so maybe not still? I don’t think any of those are on MogStation even if they’ve been around for longer.
Definitely too late. If they were going to make changes, it needed to be done before any new players had acquired the earrings, because the game can’t see the difference. Any alterations to the item now would affect new and old players equally.
