Game design for a multiplayer game is (or at least should be for it to be done well)grounded in human and community psychology, so I'd be worried if it didn't. Thank you for your contribution

Sure, sure. Not arguing against that. I just find it funny that ya'll have taken this debate so far. Thanks for your input.

Yes, but they're still exclusive items that aren't obtainable anymore. I suppose you could classify Yokai as the same; hadn't really considered them. I try to forget about that as much as possible. There were 13 weapons too.
Perhaps I'm missing the point, but everyone had equal opportunity to play 1.X? It's just an unwillingness (or inability) to pay additional money. Not sure why 1.X/Legacy should specifically get called out there.

Not evryone had equal opportunity to play 1.0 specially when they promise the PS3 version the never came out. :-)Yes, but they're still exclusive items that aren't obtainable anymore. The reason why we even got ps3 on 2.0.
But yes all PC player had fair chance for it.

You give me more credit then I do myself. I am on the spectrum and tend to view things differently, and I also do not have many friends. Either way the things I do is because of how it makes me feel. For example earlier today I was at best buy and some guy was holding up the check out line due to his method of payments being declined. I just bought his item so I could get out of the store. Sure he was thankful but in the grand scheme his feelings did not matter much still would have done it because I wanted to get out of the store but still wanted my keyboard. As someone else mentioned before I am not trying to judge just understand. I tend to harp on things in do not understand. If you thought about it you probably would more than you realise. If you have kids you probably want to be regarded as a good parent and do the very best for them if you have a partner you want to to be the one that has there affection... If you have friends you probably want to be seen as a good or important friend or feel valuable or important to the people in your life.
That's not to say self esteem isn't important because you can get that same prestige from self set goals but it's human nature to seek it from others in many forms.
It's must a game and they are just earrings, not real by the way.Getting upset over something like that is weird.Reason I'm doing the event is I because always do them for the sake of completing it.Either if I get items or not I am still going to finish it,
Soooooo...... Will there be a chance we get a classic 1.0 server?
Yoshi said theres little incentive to do so.... But did not outright say they won't.

If you take the letter on the whole, they're saying they've no plans to bring back the direct legacy experience in any further way. The post first goes through a summary of the various suggested ways to bring back the legacy experience: to recreate the story in the new game, to have a legacy server, or to create a DVD/Book. Then, in summary, they say: "Despite the many requests, it's just not possible to faithfully recreate FFXIV as it once was. Our stance on the matter has not changed." The Japanese is a bit more clear in saying that "the fact we have no plans to do so has not changed." So basically they're saying that the Rising event was done in a small way to honor these kinds of requests because they don't have plans to do anything further to bring 1.x back.
Could also argue it's a vocal minority who's arguing against the players wanting to keep their items as well. I mean, we can argue the whole forum is a "vocal minority."

Honestly, I was a 1.0 player, and never got to get anything from 1.0 as my PC died the day we went live (Which we told SE not to do as 1.0 was glitchy). Though my PC's death was not SE's fault its nice that even though they said the items wouldn't be brought to ARR, I glad they did for those of us unable to play 1.0 for various reasons. So to my fellow 1.0 players, please stop whining about "Exclusives". As most MMO's do away with those and make them available eventually anyway. A fair example, Star Trek Online, I had several things that were "Supposed" to be exclusive to Lifetime Members, About 2 years ago, all of those were made available to all players (Borg race, Captains Den [No loss there tbh, almost none of us lifetimers used it, but it was supposed to be ours], a ship or 2) but eventually the game companies have to do whats best for business, and that sometimes means making things that were once exclusive available to others.
Be glad you got them when you did and got to enjoy them for as long as you did exclusively, and be happy for those who also now get a piece of that history.
