Pretty much this. I'll never forget the people that helped me beat it and the content I needed right before 1.0 shut down. Still loyal to them!

How convienient.
For others, those items are all they have left of the community they originally had, before the changes to the game eventually bled them away.

Expecting your feelings and memories to be privileged and regarded as sacrosanct by other players seems pretty conceited and unreasonable, but maybe that's just me.

It seems odd to me too. But I kind of see both sides...I mean, I get that the fight was hard and you want to have something like a souvenir to remember it by. And now they're taking that away which is kind of insinuating (to some people) that your prior experience and love of and devotion to the game doesn't matter. So I get why they're miffed about this. I don't know how much of a community there was during 1.0, but I'd wager that VERY few people stuck it out and not only got those earrings but also still play today. Perhaps, on this five year anniversary of the game, they're giving us all a glimpse of what you legacy players saw and went through -- like "look how far we've come", which is something that everyone can be proud of.
It oftentimes seems like many players want a thing just so they can hold it over others' heads and brag about their skill and/or suffering.
"We want bunny suits for guys!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Ishgard housing!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Viera!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Cloud's motorcycle!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Blue Mage!"-- OK! ✅
"We want the ability to earn past Feast rewards!" - OK! ✅ to armor
"... and mounts?
I'm more outraged that they are giving earrings for a five years anniversary event... This just look laziness to me
(don't say they will give minion and orch roll, I'm talking about glamour itens).

People are upset the items from 5 years ago are going to be available to everyone else without an extra word like 'replica' so they can't have that 'extra gold star' along with their 'lifetime lower sub' 'legacy mount' 'legacy tattoo'?
That's so sad. Bard, play Despactio.

Is it really that sad that people want to show their accomplishments?People are upset the items from 5 years ago are going to be available to everyone else without an extra word like 'replica' so they can't have that 'extra gold star' along with their 'lifetime lower sub' 'legacy mount' 'legacy tattoo'?

The fight wasn't easy. It was not something that was just handed out to people playing at the time. People worked hard for it. People lost statics over it. People never felt better after completing it!
While the fight was a long time ago, and cannot be replicated now, it doesn't lessen the efforts of the players who completed the fight at the time. The real heroes of Eorzea they were.
I don't think it's sad at all. They have every right to be justified in this upset.

The way people are acting, I'm going to say... eh, no. 1.0 was Five. Years. Ago. Yes, that was a big accomplishment then. And in ARR being able to clear Binding Coil was a big deal. Now people can buy the set. There are still exclusives that CAN NOT be gotten by people AT ALL. People wigging out over EARRINGS is... plainly... silly. It's childish. If people did the work and got them... nothing about that has changed AT ALL. NEW players can now get a glamour item and that doesn't change a darn thing from a legacy player AT ALL. Pitching a fit about it doesn't change their tat, 'bo, sub cost, or anything else that they get or earned... including their names in credits, either. No one is discrediting legacy players, either. The salt is pointless and petty. Is it really that sad that people want to show their accomplishments?

See the thing is, the accomplishment of the fight was never diminished. You can unsync through coil or you can simply buy some of the replica glamour (note it's specifically a replica). The fights aren't worth much these days. The way people are acting, I'm going to say... eh, no. 1.0 was Five. Years. Ago. Yes, that was a big accomplishment then. However you can't just stomp your way through the original Nael Deus Darnus. It's unavailable. Meaning the difficulty was as it was, and never got easier. So you can't just say "oh you did this terribly hard thing five youears ago, your trophy is worthless" when they did something few others did.
Yeah it's just an earring. But that earring was never the point of the fight. People didn't even know it existed before going into the fight. An NPC later on after winning slipped it into your inventory without a log notice. The silent nod for the accomplishment. Nobody fought for the earring. Making the earring all that much more special in the end.
Now what if it wasn't an earring? Ultimate fights you cannot unsync. Your ilvl is even synced down to what was the cap at the time of the fight. In five years from now if they start handing out UwU weapons to people during an event, that wouldn't be cool.
What if The Feast seasonal trophies were up for grabs with Wolf Marks down the line? Also not cool. The fact the White Ravens are earrings doesn't change what's happening here.

All the more reason it shouldn't be an issue. People were doing the content because it was there to do, out of enjoyment for playing the game per se. The reward was just a bonus, and thus it doesn't undercut anyone's motivations for doing the content to hand it out years in the future.
