Calling it a replica kind of bugs me though, It's a good idea because it would seperate people who got the old version from people who have the new one, but I feel like "Just slap replica on it and it's k" is setting a far worse precedent than people thinking SE putting a raid reward as a seasonal reward mean no raid rewards are sacred anymore and we'll see UwU handed out for free in 5 years.

But if slapping "Replica" on to the item name makes it okay then boy oh boy I wanna get me some replica feast rewards and a replica dalamud horn!

But it would make sense in the "lore". The idea of the rising is a celebration of the calamity, and as part of the celebration you are given an item that came from the center of the calamity. It would make more sense if replicas of this "famous" item were being mass produced to celebrate the event. It might be uninteresting, but replica makes sense.

Funny that even PvE players suddenly don't want to share their exclusives with other PvE players (but expect so for PvP rewards). A bit hypocrite don't you think?

I'm wondering why it matters when the game those things are from is DEAD, it no longer lives and NOONE can play it again. So comparing it to anything we have NOW is stupid. You can STILL play XIV pvp, still do UwU, still do whatever in XIV. 1.0 is GONE so does it REALLY matter what they do? Thats like me crying someone can play Sonic CD on their phone. " CRY! you suck sega for releasing that game for other people to play on phones when I had to buy a Sega CD for it." It sounds stupid.

Plans change. Different directions are taken. Comments 5+ years old should not be taken as law. From the looks of things, no item is sacred in this game. Realize that and decide if you want to keep supporting this game if it offends you that greatly.

I hate to say it, but it's not looking good. To make any changes to this event SE would have to do maintenance/hotfix and being as it's only a few days away now and the weekend is also coming up...

I'm surprised people are still complaining about digital earrings which hardly anyone sees. I can bet majority of people forgot about it until they saw it in The Rising and now suddenly care. As long as I can say I done the fight why would i care about earrings? They could give it away but you can still say you beat the fight from 1.0 so what is the problem here?

I don't think ANYONE wants past rewards handed out for free. That diminishes the effort put forth to get them in the first place, which is what I think riled up a lot of the 1.0 veterans.

I am looking forward to doing the fight and earning those earrings just as past players did. It might not be 100% exactly like the original but there are probably technical reasons that prevent this.

I'm also looking forward to earning past PVP rewards, if they are ever made available again, but a lot needs to be changed with the system's present incarnation, as we all know.

Let's not be so quick to judge until the actual event has happened.
