I disagree. Many people - myself included - are completely fine with items that we've earned or bought over the years being enjoyed by those who do not yet have them.
It isn't necessarily in our nature to be selfish. That's a learned behaviour for the most part.

I beat T9, so obviously it's fine for me to get the earring.
Granted, it was when T9 was given the Echo buff (the only "nerf" in the fight), but regardless, I've beaten it. Also beat T7 before that was nerfed. Gosh, what a stressful fight that was when I was tasked to deal with Renauds.

It is.
Beating a fight in the original version of a game that had to be shut down and relaunched is objectively not that big a deal. Especially when five years have passed since that point. Those who managed to complete it will still have access to their earrings. The developers are not taking them away from those players, nor are they stripping away the memories of the players in question.
Everybody agreed to the Terms of Service when they made their account. The Terms of Service state, specifically, that the game can and will change over time. On a legal basis, that also covers things like the developers stating one thing and then doing another. If those speaking out about this are truly so disheartened, then the best thing for them to do is speak with their wallets and take their leave of the game.
At the end of the day, it's just that - a game. It's really not that big a deal.
Likewise. I'm also a big fan of all things Garlemald, so I'll definitely appreciate them for what they are - a cool piece of Garlean themed gear.

I agree that "sharing" is okay, although I rather it be a similar feat. I think it shouldn't be easy to obtain.
I just don't think there is something wrong with people for disagreeing.

Things can't be made free in real life due to scarcity. That's not really a factor with digital goods you can "print" virtually endlessly.
They're usually added once the event rolls back around next year.On the issue that “it’ll be on MogStation next year!”... will it? I don’t think you can buy last year’s rewards (Lyse and Gosetsu minions if I remember correctly), and I haven’t been here long enough to know what the previous rewards were but everything available in the “past seasonal events” category seems... well, seasonal.
Perhaps I’m mistaken and the minions are about to be available to coincide with this year’s event. But if any event rewards are going to be unavailable later, the “thankyou for playing” event seems fair enough. (Although then a poor choice to make character minions the prizes, so... I don’t know.)

You deserve exactly what the developers decide to provide you and how they decide to provide you.Be it through a fight... or an Anniversary Event.
Darlings.

Your statement is missing the point of the person you quoted and is wrong on in and of itself. Taken at face value what you're saying is equivalent to PVPers deserve the completely gutted and bot ridden modes they have, Raiders deserve easier mechanics and draconian loot restrictions and PvErs deserve Pagos; clearly none of that is true yet that is what you'd like use to believe based on your statement.
