world merge and character' name

I like to share my input in regards to this. Not so much about the world transfers/merges, but more about the players' characters.

Considering that we'll be able to change race and gender come 2.0, SE has to offer a name change either before or during the distribution since those gender swapping won't or might not have a suitable name to match.

I'm one of the many individuals excited for the implementation of the missing genders and I plan going as a male Miqo'te. As much as I like my name, albeit not original, I'd like to be able to change it to fit with my "reborn" character.

If se does not allow name change in the 2.0 thing but they allow race and gender change I forsee more rage then the outrage that happened with the merge lol

You delete your character and make another... which technically isn't a name change but I can onyl assume that is what was meant.

You're actually a lot closer than you think, here. Go to The XIV Support Center and search the knowledge base to find the FAQ, "Is it possible to restore a character that was deleted?" Pay particular attention to the first "limitation" listed at the bottom.
