Most people were/are in favor of a server merge, that's not what's causing the complaining...The servers have such low populations now that the merger is inevitable if the game is to survive. Anyone that isn't willing to admit that is ignorant of the facts. You can either deal with it, or you can cry about it. There is plenty of time to do either, but I'll tell you which is a bigger waste of time and effort...
I bet Yoshi is reading the forums now crying in the corner of his office, sad about the same 50 people who are always on this forums comments. Poor guy.

Great post, Elex.
I think Yoshi's great. I love most of the decitions he's made, and I think the game's going in the right direction.
I just don't think he made the best decition in this instance.
Because the details suck.

great post sir! I really wish those people posting about yoshi would think about what they are saying.
Currently playing: Fire Emblem Awakening & Tales of Xillia.
Well said sir.I feel bad for yoshi. He made a decision that he felt as developer (leader) of FF14 was the best one along with his develper team was the right one. People keep saying with the planed server change that they may loose friends. People forget that its their friends decision to choose what ever server that they may choose and that is not to lay the blame on yoshi or developers . It is one thing to say you disagree with the way the merger is happening, but to make comments like in other post about yoshi not carring about the community is just messed up. Do you guys remember what it was like before yoshi took over? We rarely ever got updates or info about the game. Since he has took over he actually listens to are input and keeps us updated. So why you may disagree with merger, think about all the awesome changes and coming changes yoshi has brought to are game. Please post how you feel but be respectful.
Maybe it's my military background coming in to play, but you make a mistake, you own up to it, you take whatever pushups from however many people you get, and you fix it.
In this case, he's a man we're paying (and SE is paying). I care for his well being as a person, and I respect that bad decisions are made - I've made them before. But coddling him is not the solution (and if he's seriously bothered by random nitwits on forums picking on his decisions, that's another issue entirely). It's his *job* to fix it, and I can't blame people for questioning his/SE's grasp on modern MMO standards when this decision ignores all the expected conveniences from a P2P MMO.
