What's the point if the mobs can just one shot you and the chain gangs and unwilling to rez you? You'll end up with less gil and less exp then what you started with most likely.

Essentially what the Diadem is to be fair (minus the loss of exp/gil) There was always a risk of being killed as a gatherer but that didn't stop players from going there, some still do but normally with other FC friends tagging along.
