A nice start to 2023 with an unexpected Onion gear drop. I've been wanting one, but never thought I'd eventually get a piece!

I don't think ilvl matters so much if at all for quick ventures. I levelled my ninja retainer 1-90 while only and still wearing the level 1 starting daggers that enabled her to be rogue initially and she was the one to give me the doublet recently, on top of numerous Radiant and Troian pieces before that as well. Here is a picture of her getting Radiant necklace just today for example to show the "importance" of ilvl.

Just dropping in to say that yes, the Onion Doublet set is still obtainable via quick exploration. Just got my Onion Gaskins as of 4/5/2023, (patch 6.38 for potential future readers.)

I just recently reset their levels to get them off of the higher level drop tables (every time they break an expansion barrier, they unlock another loot table. A level 10 can roll anything from ARR's table, 51 for HW, 61 for SB, etc. So you greatly increase the odds by keeping your retainer at level 50 or below.)

It's also worth noting that I've been playing for years, with 5 retainers, and have pretty much always just used them for quick explorations. This is the first time I've seen a single piece of the set. So I'm guessing they're pretty rare.

Hello! This is my very first post on the FFXIV forums, since i never got it to work before.
I just got the Onion Doublet so i am posting here to show it is still obtainable! In total i get in about 10 to 20 quick ventures a day and this is the very first time i got an item from the set. I didn't even know it existed, i thought the helmet was the only thing.

I got onion pattens today 7th sep 2023. Didn't know about the set but found this thread. 10 retainers doing quick ventures this is the first I've ever seen, so glad I found out more about them here.
