    FFXIV in two PCs

Hi all adventurers. I have a doubt that assails me for some time and I would like an answer: I installed FFXIV on a desktop computer, but I would like to know if it is possible to put it on a laptop with the same data.

Yes it’s very simple. Just copy paste the data files over.

The only restriction is you simply cannot be running the same client/account at the same exact time.

If you switch between them commonly, it can be a pain - you only need to copy once to a new computer. But, for example, lets say you make some change to your hotbars or window positions or whatever else on your laptop. Then you go back to your desktop. These changes won't be sync'd, you'll have to copy paste the settings the settings again.

Also, some things like your gearsets, /itemsearch data, and so on are also clientside. Meaning if you change and save gear, that won't be on the other computer automatically; if you search for stuff, one of your computers may not have up to date info on your retainers' inventory, and so on.

So it's not hard to copy your settings over, but there's a few gotchas to keep in mind.

Lastly, your settings are probably at C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn

Hmmm I just installed them like normal and sign in, you could copy it however if they are different operating systems 32bit / 64bit you could get some problems. But that's do to tech specs.

Good morning and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

You can play on two PCs and as other posters have mentioned, you can move your locally saved content (the online content is synced with the server so you don't need to worry about that). Moving the folder can work, but if the game fails to recognize it, you can simply do a on-time setup of your hot bars, gear sets, etc. then switch between the two.

An important note is that, as a security measure, you will probably incur a login restriction by signing into a new device. If this happens, all you need to do is reset your password. You can avoid this entirely by adding a security token to your account.

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!
