Companion app features

So the companion app is out now and for how long it’s taken to make, it really doesn’t do much. I don’t know if they’re planning to update it in the future with new features but if they are, here are a few things I think it should do.

-manage our FC, manage FC buffs, water plants, feed Chocobos, manage airship/submarine voyages, accept applications, etc.

-add an equipment database and allow us to try on and dye equipment, like the in game fitting room so we can build sets and see what they look like.

-Let us view the timers window so we can know when our retainers are done, what GC missions are available, when our squad has finished a mission etc. Great for keeping tabs on your stuff without having to log in.

-duty buzzer.
Give it a feature when you sign for a duty you can have the app notify you when your duty pops. I think ps4 players can actually already do this with their controller.

-let us play triple triad.
Have the app be able to play triple triad matches with people matching via the battlehall.

Any other suggestions people would like to see added to the app? Doesn't matter if the idea is far fetched or unlikely, we'll let SE work out what's doable and what's not. This is just to show what kind of things people want it to do.

Edit: Let’s keep the salty “it’ll all be locked behind premium features anyway” comments to a minimum, I don’t like it either but let’s leave that for another thread.

I'd like to be able to send moggle mail to characters in game from the app. Also to have your Market Board wish list from the game be accessible in the app. Also I'm still holding out of the event calendar from the lodestone and now app to be put in the game, at least for FC and LSes but I suppose that's not app-specific.

I think they should at least start with the features they said it would have.

You also cant chat with anyone in-game, you can only chat with others in the app.

Yeah, I was expecting it to allow you to talk in FC chat and send tells in game directly from your phone, not just a glorified facebook messenger.

At the absolute barest minimum you should be able to chat with your FCs/LSs without needing everyone to download the app. Guildwork managed this years ago.

FWIW, can't do that right now because that data is stored in the client, not on the server, so it doesn't know your sort order. (Same reason why, if you move from one computer to another, or from PC to PS4, your sort isn't preserved.) But they said that starting in 4.4 they would be syncing character-related settings to the server, which might include sorting details. Once they make that change, then it should be possible to have that reflected in the app. (It may be that one of the reasons they're making this change in general is so that it's accessible to the app.)

Not a must, but it would be cool if it let you use the forums. Might actually get more ppl to leave their feedback here.
Being able to view your timers or send retainers on ventures would be great too.

Bring the calendar also into the game. It is really well done. But within the App only, you can't use it to plan events, when you have players that can't use the app.

Make it possible to chat with people within the game.

Make the contacts auto sync. Currently I have to start it manually to get the current state.

I'd love to see the calendar/event scheduler in game, it should then be in sync with the phone.
I'd also like to be able to see/chat with FC (not just in phone, but in game).

Right now the phone app has been a complete letdown, and it ties into some disappointment that I've had with Stormblood as a whole. I hope that Yoshi-P and team are working hard on something, big, and special. I've shared those ideas and will continue to do so.
