    Unexpected error

    Today I've been getting this same error repeatedly. I've no idea what's causing it, and why. Just can't seem to keep playing for long before it pops up.

    Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

    When did this first occur? Did anything change/update on your PC that coincides with this? Do you notice any pattern to this error (Only when teleporting, only in instances, etc.)?

    As for what you can do to alleviate the error, try some of the following troubleshooting methods:

    Switch to DirectX 9 mode (select ‘Config’ from the launcher)
    Update/reinstall Graphics card drivers
    Make sure to disable all unnecessary or resource-heavy programs/overlays.
    Set compatibility mode to Windows 7 (right click on the exe file and select ‘Properties.’ Then select the ‘Compatibility’ tab and choose Windows 7)
    Try a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC.

    I think I updated my graphic card drivers the other day, and hadn't touched FFXIV until day after. It first occurred when I logged on the character, and had just been on for a minute or two before it popped up. Same thing happened several times, though once I was able to teleport and get inside a cottage before it popped up again.

    I'll try the other methods, and see if anything helps. Thanks!
