    Disconnects on exiting Dungeons

Recently, since the update to 4.4, more often than not when I go to exit a dungeon, be it 4-man, 8-man or 24-man, I'm being disconnected from the server (Balmung).

When logging back in, the game will lose connection one more time before I'm able to log in again. On occasion, this will happen when I try to move from one zone to another but is primarily an issue with moving between world server and instance servers.

    Troubleshooting performed so far:

    Reset IE
    Set game to compatibility mode
    Restarted all network equipment
Static IP Assignment as well as Dynamic
    Changed DNS
Cleared user data for FFXIV (Restored after I confirmed that it didn't fix it)
    Clean booted the system
    verified all drivers updated.

Short of Reinstalling FFXIV I'm at a loss as to what I'm looking at here. I've even monitored packet flow while this happens and the connection appears stable when this happens.

It's important to understand I can sit inside a zone for an unlimited amount of time with no Disconnect. I can be in a raid for the full lockout with no issues until I go to leave the instance, then it will happen.

Any thoughts or idea's about what I can do to combat this?

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

I'd like to get some more information about your disconnections:

Have you experienced any other connection issues (i.e. lag) since you started experiencing this?
Type of connection (wired or wireless)?
Other programs running while the game is playing (if any)?
Everything you have tried to resolve the issue
When you log back in, where does it put you? The instance or the open world?

The first thing I'd like to suggest is to check whether you have the following ports open:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040
Your ISP can open these ports for you.

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

    Wired connection
Varying programs to none, I've tried it both ways

    Troubleshooting:
    Reset IE
    Set game to compatibility mode
    Restarted all network equipment
Static IP Assignment as well as Dynamic
    Changed DNS
Cleared user data for FFXIV (Restored after I confirmed that it didn't fix it)
    Clean booted the system
    verified all drivers updated.

    All required ports opened.

Thank you for the reply Rune_Crystalblade.

It looks like you missed a few questions that I asked initially:

Have you experienced any other connection issues (i.e. lag) since you started experiencing this?
When you log back in, where does it put you? The instance or the open world?

Additionally, try making an exception for the game on your anti-virus/firewall. This could be blocking you from transitioning back to your previous location.

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!
