Increasing the Outdoor furnishing Slots (small Plots)

    Hey everyone,

i think almost everyone what have a small Plot like our FC have at the moment know allready what i mean with that. Since the initial Release of the FC Housing we got more and more stuff what we can place outside of the Plots.
And with that said i bet everyone runs to the same Problem like us. 20 Slot for out door Furnishing is on small Houses really less. Since we have the Plot we keep moving stuff around or removing it from the Garden, just to get new stuff placed. But we still want have the old stuff beeing there, because it looked good where it was.

So my suggention to that would be to increase the Slot at least on small plot to 30. I would give the small Houses more options to look the Garden also really good and there will be no downside when things come in like Gardening or the Chocobo stable.

What you guys think of it and ofcourse what thinks SE about that?

This I agree on, because you have stone flooring that does not reach the door by the time you have enough you have zero space to lay down anything else.

makes it look bland and you wanna put more stuff but you cant.

I agree that small houses need more outdoor room. With the upcoming Moonfire Faire; there are three new outdoor items that some people won't be able to even put up on their FC lots due to the lack of space. In retrospect the chocobo stables and garden should have never taken up a slot as a place-able item.

I dont see how you're even reaching the limit.

We put 5 benches around a campfire, some logs, a horribly gaudy fountain (urgh lol), stables, lanterns, plants, and we still didnt reach the cap.

Unless you're just plopping everything down on it without trying to make it look organized, you shouldnt be reaching the cap.

It's actually very easy to do that. I recently got a small personal house and just adding the necessities (chocobo stable, miniature aetheryite, moogle letter box, striking dummy, and delux garden patch) plus few trees, a couple of benches, and other items to decorate I hit 20 items in no time. I could have easily added more items to that without getting even vaguely disorganized or cluttered.

Not sure the stance on 'necroing'. But I don't see the reason to create a new topic addressing the same issue.

Anywho, I'm currently sitting at 15/20 (Small Plot). And I don't see how I'm going to make a stone walking path from the plot entrance to the front door, while still having enough for some plants.

I figure they put these rather (drastic) restrictions in place to maintain performance. But this is 2018, surely those restrictions can be reduced....like an extra 10 slots to each plot size??

If you're thinking that my place is cluttered..

I'm very meticulous about my surroundings. I put the hedge partition so my Choco isn't kept up at night from the lamppost, which illuminates the side-awning seating area.

The campfire is needed because the Ultimate Kettle is boiling.

You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else.

I have to agree with you, and though someone might come along and complain about the necro, the post is still relevant. I’ve been trying to decorate my small’s front and side yard with a slightly overgrown garden theme, and i’ve found that it’s actually tough to decorate with any theme in mind with only twenty spaces. I don’t have room to include everything I’d like to that suits the theme, and I’m leaving it as is for now though I am a little tempted to revert to the ultra-neat ‘grove of cherry trees with a couple benches and/or a picnic area and a fountain and nothing else’ style that most who have a small seem to use. Even using larger items to fill up space really hasn’t worked well for me.

Even with the Large house for our fc, the garden is kinda... meh. Its os annoying you always need the basics and cant rly use decoative, but static stuff like the stone walkways or trees...

I see that this has been requested since 2013, but Square Enix has not increased the limit yet. A limit of 20 for small plot is way too little. I have 19/20 in the yard and it is way too empty. I want at least twice the amount for the yard so that I could put flower plots, more lamps and such. I am debating what to put as the last item... pretty sad....

    "Server limitations"

If you increase the max number of garden objects, then there is that many extra objects for each house in a ward.
Multiply that by the number of wards in each housing district and then multiply it by the number of districts, and you will see that increasing the limit by even a single object means a few thousand extra objects each server would have to handle.

That being said, it would certainly be nice to be able to add a few more decorations to the yard. It is very easy to run into the limit there.
