• It would be great if we could access our Lodestone blog, that way there can be a "Blog" button which displays news from people in your contacts filtered at your wish.
• I think the 200 characters limit for messages isn\\'t enough, this ain\\'t Twitter after all, let us post longer messages like any other messaging app!
• Add an option while creating an event to Auto-invite people to events linked to the chat group automatically if they get invited to the group
• Bring Vana\\'diel cam to Eorzea! Let us see idle cams of our FC or Aetheryte plazae etc., for entertainment purpose.
• Put a red circle on the Chat button on the main menu if there are new messages, same as updates on the Event button, with the number of updates.
• Inventory: let us swipe left/right to browse the Armoury and the Currencies, and like others mentioned, put all Currencies in there.

Having only had the Companion App for about 2 hours now since I was running a Pixel 2 XL with Android 9 Pie. I would like to go over my initial thoughts.

Firstly I'm digging some of the features, for instance I really like that I can create chat groups, then create events based on those groups and instantly send invites out to anyone in the group. This is great for FC events or impromptu raid night changes.

I am disappointed with some of the limitations of the chat features though, I would love it to be linked to the in-game chat somehow... Maybe someday. Also it seems really slow when loading and sending messages.

Inventory management is amazing, I just sold a hand full of junk items while I was sitting on the toilet... Not going to lie, potty time is best time for inventory management.

The downside of inventory management is having your retainers locked behind the paywall. that kind of sucks. The other thing that sucks is not being able to be logged into the game to do it, but more on that later.

I feel this is a good time to straight up call out the Moogle Coins, they are complete BS. "We don't want people to exploit the market.... Unless they pay us." Whatever SE GTFO. That being said, the monthly subscription does come with a retainer. So if you're already paying for a retainer, you can cancel it and pick up the app, effectively reducing the app price to $3 a month.

Back tracking a little, I know the event system they're using in the app is the same one we've had on the lodestone, but I think they could have updated it a little. Reoccurring events option would have been greatly appreciated.

And finally back to simultaneous logins. I'm super disappointed I cannot check market board prices for an item that dropped before I lot on it. That was one of the things I had been looking forward to the most, now I still have to rely on a random FC member being close to a market board and looking it up for me.

A side note, since I'm on a Pixel 2 XL, I am rather impressed they managed to update the app within a few days. I was fully expecting a few weeks to months before I had access to it. For those still waiting for the update, I had to uninstall the app and then reinstall it.

I was really excited about it until the first time I tried to put something up for sale. Microtransactions for a game I pay monthly for? Nope. Think I'll just uninstall it from my phone instead.

Today started an event that was planned in the week, and the app didn't notify people about the start of the event with notifications or anything, and the chat group showed the next event right away. It'd be great to have something like "Current event" shown in the chat group rather than the next event happening.

1 Kupo Nut to change 1 price? Hey, that's pretty dumb! How about we send a moogle to change multiple prices instead? I'm good to send a moogle to sell a product for a kupo nut, but I'm surely not good about paying a moogle 1 kupo nut just to change the price of 1 article. Making them change the cost of many articles at the cost of 1 kupo nut would be a better way for it.

My expectations were very high for the companion app, because imo FFXIV always was an example for other games.
Honestly, after the release of this app I was a little bit sad. Due to the fact that this app is completely useless if you're not paying for a ****load in-app currency to manage your retainers etc.

Besides the fact that the microtransaction system is ridiculous, I also miss a few features.

• FC chat synchronization would be great and it would help free companies to organized themselves outside game, without leaving this platform.
• More imformation about these app currencies. When I installed the app, it took me too much time to find out where it's used for.
• A premium system that's extends your game experience, instead of offering the same ingame feature with in-app purchases.
• Triple Triad would be cool.. Many of my friends would like it. (Maybe even want to pay for it)
• Lodestone blog
• Most important to me as a user: Make it more clear how it works! Create a mini-tutorial for new users, or at least provide more information about how to use this app as you wanted us to use it. I'm sure there is so philosophy behind it..

Now I look at an app that is designed to earn money asap. I'd rather see an app that could be a "companion" than a golddigger.

I like the theme and colors though. Also inventory management and events are very nice.

I unfortunately can't test the app since it is incompatible with my Samsung Galaxy A3 (Android 6.0.1). Are there any plans making the app compatible for more devices? The galaxy A3 is not that old I think. Unfortunately I also cannot find any system requirements on the (german) help pages and the app store also does not say what exactly is not compatible with the app (android version, screen resoluten...)

I think this is one of the bigger misses for the app; ease of access to the blog from that app would be far less of a pain that it is now. If I could do posts from the app to my blog, I know would use it a lot more for sure!

I noticed during Maintenance of the server that you could still use the Companion app. I'm not sure this was intentional or not.

I have some concerns about this. Like if the server is unavailable to play on how can the marketboard still be used by the Companion app? Shouldn't it be down for maintenance as well?

I mean if they worked out the kinks and it's not a problem I'm ALL for it! but I would hate to see someone lose Gil or items because they tried to preform a transaction during maintenance window of the server! Or have their items rolled back because transactions were made when they shouldn't have been.

On the transactions on the market board, I would recommend toning the cost down from per transaction to per retainer. Just like in the game, when we summon a retainer, that retainer no longer is on the market board. Giving some explanation to why doing MB transactions are not just free because of load on the server concerns, the app could at a minimum pull your retainer off the MB, let you adjust items being sold or add items being sold and then pay a kupo nut to commit those changes. Buying items would admittedly have to stay per item.
