FYI, Bluestacks will waste your bandwidth downloading things you don't want, because that's how they make money. Yes it works, but if all you want is something stable to download/use an app, you'd want something that utilizes the Intel HAXM layer for Android. Though in general that sometimes involves downloading an entire Android development kit, and that might be one straw too much just to use an app.

It's strongly not advised to use the software emulators for the authenticators however, as it defeats the purpose of having it on a separate device. Authenticators should only be on real hardware.

Oh I never notice. I have it installed, but I Run->msconfig_> disable autostart of just about anything non-essential/Same thing for services.

It's weird that pretty much anyone with a newer phone can't download it. I seen reports of people using Galaxy S6-9 and new Pixel phones are unable to install through G.Play. Using the APK file it works flawlessly.

personally I think they are using us as beta testors for this app, I find their decision to release the app in this state irresponsible

I have an OG Pixel XL updated to Android 9 (Pie). I was able to download it, but it crashes on startup. Uninstall/reinstall didn't help.

I was having this issue too. My Galaxy S6 the app doesnt event get listed. Tho on my Galaxy S8 it does. Ill have to manually download the apk too.. just to use as a chat room.. since rest of the stuff is pointless for those of us who stay logged in...

Even discord works faster for chat compared to the app. =(

If you just want the app so that you can connect your character for the free teleport, you can download this Android Emulator and then login your character.
