Eh, I have a friend that reacts that way with every company. Pretty much chalks it up to "bad customer service doesn't deserve my money." However, his have been actual issues rather (like personal information getting leaked kind of actual issue).
It does seem childish, but honestly, I'd be the same way to. If an error like that happened where I lost my personal/FC plot, even though I was just in them the night before, and SE would do nothing about it, I'd up and quit this game and never touch another one of their games again. In caps and screaming, yeah that a bit to much, but I would make it noticed if an error that huge wasn't fixed. I'd be done with anything SE does from here on out.
I'm gonna be honest: I'm not sure they CAN do anything besides credit the gil amount for the house. It does seem childish, but honestly, I'd be the same way to. But it sure should be the first place you go if you have an issue like this. It's also where the GMs typically send you. They even do so here:

If this is happening so much, it's very odd that not one of them did so.

It's like a horror story, regardless of the level of truth behind it. Like others, I would take a sudden auto-dem of my house that I enter almost every day as a sign it's time to leave the game for good. It would be more than a straw breaking the camel's back, but I wouldn't cite it as the ONE reason for leaving. And believe me I would kick and scream for all of the internet to see.
If this is true then SE should halt auto-dems indefinitely, since it's clear that has only brought more harm than good at such a point. If it's untrue, then it would also be good to see credible affirmation of such.
Like, if anyone's on those servers then they should hurry to the areas and wards, and take screenshots of the alleged plots. Recently emptied plots have a timer before anyone can buy it up, and any good amount of decoration takes time as well. I'm not sure how much time has passed since these claims, but this might be something to look into, maybe.

Egh. Ungarmax was exposed on reddit and then exploited for 3 months before anyone came here. It was even reported ingame, but the special task force effed up.
I can see such a bug going lengths as well, if people don't report it here for whatever reason. But frankly, I never heard it happen to anyone I know or even anyone the people I know know, so I'm not gonna go panic mode any time soon.
Before that was the Dissipation>Swiftcast>Eos/Selene bug that pretty much persisted all through Heavensward, too. PotD pomanders existed outside of PotD, too. It was hardly talked about and probably reported even less. The bugs are there and do get talked about (however, do acknowledge that combat-related exploits tend to be kept quieter than fluff ones). None of those were talked about at all on these forums.Egh. Ungarmax was exposed on reddit and then exploited for 3 months before anyone came here. If someone else moved into that plot, probably not which in return I'd be pretty much done with them. It was an error on their part, a huge one at that. Getting the gil and items back doesn't make up for the fact that I just lost plot(s) that I was in the night before.
I'll be honest, the moment I saw this thread and looked at the links, I logged in to check mine... I have very little trust with SE these days.

"Everyone has something they hold dear, something they never want to lose. That's why they pretend. That's why they hide the truth. And that's why they lie."
They will ignore it because it does not concern the jpn player base. The jpn player base has no auto demolitions right now so they won't get any reports from there.
When the demolitions get set in place on the japense centers in a few months and they might get reports from there only then i have hope of them fixing this
but seriously
STOP AUTO DEMOLITION ON ALL SERVERS AS LONG AS THIS BUG EXISTS
