I have no problem doing the part needed to do the event with the keyboard. The upper part of the tower I'm not sure if there is any reward.

I got farther on a lalafell alt, but only ever saw one person up that far.
I have no problem doing the part needed to do the event with the keyboard. The upper part of the tower I'm not sure if there is any reward....look no offense but you can say all you like, but the jump is fixed, you can't change distance once you committed to it, and you only have a few set distances. Try jumping straight up. Now just tap the joystick forwards and jump. Now walk and jump. Now sprint and jump. All of them have fixed distances that can't be changed. You can't jump straight up, tap forwards, and land only a step away from your original position, you always jump straight up. if you tap forwards, its always the same distance. The only way you vary distance is by the methods I listed. Ninja jumps are the same, though the distance when walking/running might vary due to the fleet of foot trait.
you have no analog on controller either. Mostly whether you tap/walk, run, or sprint i think. You can't correct any landing; if its the wrong jump distance you overshoot

Eh... it's a fluff event. I give them a pass for stuff like this. It's mainly just a pretense to shower us with seasonal goodies for 15 minutes of our time. Don't really have any complaints about it.
The jumping puzzle was actually pretty fun, I mean, I cleared it pretty easily without falling off once, but still.
Watching forum drama be like
I would suggest a cooking event next time find as much potatoes u can smash !.
Considering not everyone even likes jumping puzzles, I don't know how well received mechanics that constantly try to knock you off would be.
You say they're out of ideas.
Your suggestions are....reused, pre-existing ideas? I don't understand what you're despairing about if your suggested fix for running out of ideas is to reuse old ideas??? If your argument isn't that you don't like jump puzzles it doesn't come across very clear.
It's a reused idea that hasn't been used in a seasonal event yet, so there's that? These are supposed to be easy, quick menial tasks that can be done in half an hour. I'm happy with this one, and they have had some criminally pathetic events in the past which we literally just talking to 2 or 3 NPC's.
You know what? On one hand it's different strokes for different folks. On the other, I can at least see how people might like this year's Moonfire Faire in general, or at least I think I do:
1) We don't have to spend hours or days of a grueling experience to get to the relatively fun part. We do one turn-in, a repeatable quest one time that's fairly simple, and another quest to finish for the achievement and glamour.
2) You can take short or long breaks to converse with someone, and you are not punished for it. If you type a message whilst halfway up the tower, it doesn't matter if the message takes 2 seconds or 2 minutes; the platform you're on is still there and you're not starting over from the bottom, so that short message taking two to five seconds does't translate to screwing a whole party out of however many minutes of their time. It's almost like social interaction in a MMO is a good thing, or something.
I've really liked this one.
The optional challenge climb is great.

Oh my dear God. It's an optional event. Why can't people just sit back and enjoy it?
