Temporary Suspension of the Services: Follow-up

Below is an update regarding the temporary suspension of the FINAL FANTASY XIV, FINAL FANTASY XI, and PlayOnline services.

Originally, we announced that the services will be temporarily suspended for about a week starting on Mar. 13, 2011 3:00 (PDT). However, due to ongoing issues with the lack of energy, we have decided to extend the suspension until Mar. 22, 2011 (JST). We will re-evaluate the situation on Mar. 22, 2011 (JST) and provide everyone with another update regarding this matter.

We deeply apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and thank you for your continued understanding of this unusual situation.

- PlayOnline Friend List Application
- Community Site Link Registration: Owner Menu

* Additionally, the following types of support will also be temporarily unavailable:
- PlayOnline Password Recovery
- PlayOnline Account Cancellation
- All activities requiring the confirmation of personal information

Extended a couple more days, not as bad as we thought possibly, but we'll have to wait for the update on the 22nd.

i just hope they get the situation handled over there and start getting people back to normalcy. i know they are in for a rough run for some time to come, but hopefully they show the same kind of drive that that have shown so far in the long run because this is not a race, but a marathon. best wishes to everyone over in japan.

Server won't start back up at march 22nd. It's SE way of putting it midly just like how Japanese government is still following nondisclosure policy about their nuclear reactor problem. We all know it's way worse than it is, but the government can't give out news as is due to possible mass panic.

I will be very, very surprised if service resumes on March 22nd. In all honestly, I don't think it will be viable for them to restart until early April.

oh i agree and i don't think anyone thinks the 22nd will be the return of the game. i just wish them the best in getting the situation handled over there as soon as possible. it will probably be years before most of the infrastructure is rebuilt.
