    OMG! My eyes are bleeding!!!!

Since i left WoW and began playing FF14 a year ago i really haven't missed it too much. I have found the environment of FF14 so amazing in its texture colors and attention to detail that its been such a wonderful experience seeing the amazing world that was created here. The Avatars have far better appearance with the skin textures smooth looks and delicate features from eyes to fingers to the hair color and layers. It really is an amazing Game experience aesthetically. But I will say that i miss one thing BIG TIME...
OMG THERE IS SO MUCH DIALOG TO READ!!!!! In WoW regardless of it being a Cut scene or even an active quest line there was usually voice acting that not only added to the experience but thankfully spared the oh so tedious reading of dialog. But even Dialog in WoW wasn't as endless as it is here. I cant imagine that with all the nickle and dimeing that SE has done to squeeze every penny from its players, to get extra storage metallic dyes, new looks and many kinds of furniture and lawn items and so on, that they cant manage to find a few reasonably talented unknown voice actors to record some dialog and spare us the endlessly long speeches and monologueing in a antiquated language that makes me want to smash my head in the wall cause its just TOO MUCH!. If i wanted to read this much i would get a book. I do read books but when i play a game like this i prefer to just listen to some good voice acting. From the Main quest to Side stories that include elaborate and lengthy cut scenes there just needs to be some voice acting done. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! LOL,, Just a thought.

If you're going to complain about too much text, could you please put a few more line breaks into your own? It, um, makes my eyes hurt to read it...

Also this probably should have gone in General Discussion. The Lore forum is for talking about what happens in the story, not the presentation of it.

On your actual issue, I'm personally quite happy to read text rather than listen to it, especially when it's delivered as awkwardly as some of the ARR voiced scenes were. (I actually muted the voices and found the scenes more enjoyable. They sounded much better in my head.)

Edit to add: Also, by posting in the Lore forum, you’re complaining about the amount of text to the subset of players most likely to be reading every scrap of it they can find.

I'd say especially since it's not written that bad compared to some other game lore

Being your a WOW player you probably not to familiar with FF and if you are I'm surprised your even complaining about the lore and the amount to read. Sure you could skip most of the reading and just read the journal log, however you will be missing out on a great story. SE is known for it's great story lines and music. The graphics are nice, some content is questionable, yet is also optional. As it was mention before this thread should be more of general discussion nothing t o do with lore.

I prefer reading text to voice acting. Just a personal thing.

This is typical Final Fantasy, if not JRPG style. Having some dialog that isn't voice acted is what it is, and is a pretty common thing to see across a multitude of games. Personally I don't need every single thing spoken out to me like it's some audio novel but I can appreciate that some prefer it that way, though I doubt it will ever change... at least for a long time.

Yeah Well I would have put it in Feed back but t he feed back is categorized weirdly and didn't seem to put an option. Frankly there seems to be a lacking of a few clear options for certain types of feed back. And as for my text, if you had a hard time raiding it all I'm sorry, I would have done it in record voice chat or video stream but THERE ISN'T AN OPTION. :P LMAO! I had a grievance, I came here to express it like we all do. Complaining about my complaint like a *ss trying to turn it back on me is childish and stupid.
AS for what you liked, Fine great wonderful you like to read it all. Not everyone does. What you personally like and what others find tediously long and endlessly BORING are two different things and if a person is tired of it they have the right to voice that. The only difference is that if VOICE dialog were added nothing would change for YOU. You could turn off the voice dialog and continue reading but someone like me who gets BORED with the reading DOESN'T HAVE AN OPTION AT ALL. With every single quest having pretty much the same Endlessly long dialog and even cut scene chains to them there is so much to read that major story lines like the sky pirates quest line should be and needs to be voices acted to give a respite from the nonstop reading of babble.

Its not written bad at all. IN fact The Hildebrand story line is hilarious. the Sky Pirates quest line is very interesting and fun. The stories being bad isn't the issue. The issue is that the regular quest are even long winded and there is so much to read and so many stories going on that its just all so much to read. While I enjoy reading books, and have read my share, When I game I prefer to have some voice dialog. Its not like reading a pictureless book where you are relaxing silently reading, in my case, pages of paper. Yes i still read paper books i find E-Book annoying and like the tactile feel of a book in my hand. But when i play a game its like playing out and being apart of a movie or show. And since i can visually since these characters i interact with I prefer to hear them. There voices, there passion or anguish there rage and laughter. I can see expressions on my screen but I feel disconnected when i cant hear them. As appose to when I'm reading a book and of course it all plays out in my mind both visually and dialog.

And that's fine and like most everyone else here i have played the Final Fantasy games on my my game console and yes its always been that way there. Bu this is an MMO online and the standard was set higher especially by games like World of Warcraft where vocal dialog is part of the experience. Whether it changes or not is besides the point. I had a thought and i posted it just like everyone else. I thank you for not being childish as some to pick me apart and try and make me feel a bad about it. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and everyone is free to remark, intelligently, about those opinions. It frustrates me when people get snarky at people posting thoughts and opinions on a forum that is designed for just that trying to make them feel bad. Its childish and stupid. But i digress, thank you for not being one of those jerks.

Point in fact, some of my most favorite moments in the game is hearing the voice dialog. To hear Nanamo speak, shes so adorable, and hear the dialog between her and the syndicate and Rauban. I Loved the Voice actor for the Admiral back in Realm Reborn she was awesome, not so much the second actor but shes OK. And that is my personal feeling about it, that its enhances the experience for me to get to those points and sit back and watch it play out like a movie that Im a part of and watch and listen to the action going on.

Well, the amount of dialogue and characters are enormous, and FF14 is literally having a lot of what it earns being used to make games like FF15 actually exist (in fan-theory) because 1.0 almost killed SE, which is easily supposed with minor knowledge about Japanese business culture and general history. And, this is also something older square fans would enjoy considering VA work is only for important events and has mixed reactions to its existence in cutscenes.

Text walls are just a thing for FF in generaland it would be a complete disservice to FF fans if they cut the dialoge down to be affordable to VA
