I'll admit that a sun-seeker caring that they "don't have a father" stuck me as odd. Even if the Nuhn who fathered him is dead, there would still be other Nuhn(s) and Tias in the tribe to be uncles/role-models. For that matter considering how a sun-seeker tribe is structured I always figured raising children is more of a communal effort. Males are rare--while a sire probably pays more attention to his male offspring and male children are probably spoiled by the tribe as a whole, a Nuhn is probably more like an uncle than what we would consider a father to most of his children (favorites like M'naago being an exception). Not to mention considering that a Nuhn has to fend off challengers to keep the role so it probably isn't that rare for them to die in challenges leaving young children behind.
