My view has changed slightly on this after speaking with some people.

We don't need a server designated RP. Besaid is the RP server. Where Besaid goes, the RP goes.

The most important thing is to the Besaid community whole. This includes the RPers and the non-RPers.

I don't quite understand why we do not need a designated RP server based on what you said here. Besaid was arbitrarily picked to be the RP server, unofficially. While keeping the community as a whole is a priority, you are saying that you are going to go to Besaid server even if they name another server officially RP friendly?

No, she's saying that RPers have friends who aren't RPers, and vice versa.

I'm split on this issue. If SE is going to announce it, I want it to be formal and official; not a "suggestion," because I can't imagine how it would be for a new player to choose Zanarkand (my made-up server of choice) because they love the song, not realizing it just happened to be New Server 09. But SE shouldn't do anything, at least not until the RP community is substantially large enough to sustain its own server. Since the majority of the RPers are in similar timezones, this server would be dead for much of the day. And while the RP community is large, it is by no means large enough to sustain its own server, even in that one time zone. So it would be much better if you were to nestle yourself into a normal server, where you can access the items gathered by the non-RP community amongst other things. Admittedly, the RPers are much tighter and don't rely so much on /shouting for groups or the like. However, i just don't see an RP-exclusive server working too well.

If you read the OP, we're not asking for RP-exclusive server. Merely one that is denoted as an RP hub, so that all RPers and those who wish to play along side us can know where to go!

If you read my post, what I'm saying that if YoshiP accidentally says to a reporter while he's drunk, "I hadddd a dreammm... All the RP.... was on 09," everyone who is not an RPer will avoid 09. Just because soeone from SE said it. If you guys elect a server, it won't be as big of a deal.

RP-exclusive was never the point, actually - it's not a matter of having a server just for RPers, it's a matter of having one server all the RPers know where to find each other. A server of ALL RPers would be... Kind of aggravating, honestly, and this is coming from one of them.

I think that's the point here, to get an SE recognized RP-friendly server. This is the number one option at the moment, while there are others 'just in case'. However I really do hope to at least get a response from someone on here if it's possible.

That's not inherently a bad idea. But what I'm trying to say is that the RP community is small and if a server was "the RP server" as opposed to "home to the RP community," it would be emptier than any current server; this merge is specifically to increase world population. Any attempt by SE to declare a server as "the official home of the RP community" will be interpreted by the community as "the RP server."

In any case, I do hope the devs give you a response. ^-^

Well you have to understand that we are not demanding something which hasn't already been done. World 10 has been designated as a hub for German/French players. Will that deminish the world population? If so, why would SE do that when trying merge servers? Same questions you asked can be applied there.

I don't think simply saying exactly what they said in regards to the French/German favored World 10, only for RPers on, say World 9, would make that world a barren wasteland. In fact one of the many reasons Besaid has a thriving community where other servers feel 'dead' is because of the RP presence.

You have a point... sort of. While RP presence may make it feel more alive it's really only for /say which factors most of it. Besaid in its own is a big melting pot of different types of players. RPers, non-RPers, elitists, casuals, hardcores, etc. the list goes on. It's known that RP servers tend to have friendlier populations but I can't really speak for other servers on that subject. Reading back I can't exactly say having a designated RP server is required, but being officially recognized as one (Or rather as a server where RP primarily takes place at.) could make it much easier for those seeking RP to find where they should go. And for those who just absolutely hate our guts to know where not to go.
