Why Have Omega Queues Become So Ridiculously Bad?

I recently got an alt of mine to the end of Omega 4, but the queue to get in was ridiculous. When I got my first try to get into Omega 4 with my alt, the "Average Wait Time" was less than 5 minutes. Then for whatever reason that makes no sense to me, the indicators that tell you how many people have filled the other spots in the party goes from being almost full to completely resetting so that I have the only spot filled in the queue. This happened multiple times in the same queue and resulted in going from a wait time of "Less than 5 minutes", to waiting for 75 MINUTES!!!.

Square Enix, you need to fix this because unless they can get lucky in the Party Finder or have enough friends or FC members who can help them, something like this continuously happening is going to discourage new players from taking on Omega in the future.

The people disappearing from the list is player-caused. If someone becomes fed up with waiting and they cancel the queue they will disappear from there. It's not something that Square Enix can do anything about.

The question is whether the average queue time did reflect the extended wait time every five or so minutes. If yes...then sorry, but you were just unlucky. The queues were frequent and fast before you queued, but when you did no one else simply joined anymore, except for individuals that would then cancel the queue before enough were found. And as that would be repeated, the party would never fill up after all even if there were enough people that wanted it.

What role were you queued on? Most of the people showing up in your queue might of been backfilled from Mentor Roulette/Raid Roulette, and maybe the algorithm might just pull people from your group if it doesn't fill after a certain amount of time and cycle the members to fill other groups that could start immediately. There might have been people that were queued for multiple things at once including your instance, but they were put in a group that filled for a different one, removing them from your group.

Basically, barely anyone is queueing for that instance, the people being put into it might be from a Roulette, and once people stop queueing for it directly it takes forever to get a group since the roulette has many other instances in it, and there may be more first timers like your alt waiting the same amount of time as you that are ahead of you but for say, Omega 2 instead of 4 and that group isn't filling either.

People also might have queued for that and other instances at the same time, or they might have been pulled to fill another group. If you queue as a tank and dps, you see two other dps, and then they disappear, they might have been added to a group that just queued that was only missing 2 dps. The list is constantly shifting to create as many groups as possible.
