Suggestion: Please allow us to remove the interact ability of items

I have a nice little bar and cake shop and honestly having random items disappearing around my house because there are too many interact-ables (mostly all food) is very frustrating. I'm never going to use them for to gain exp. Plus it would be nice to not see 100 arrows around everything all the time as well.

You can do something about the arrows at least. In your Character Configuration, go to Display Name Settings, NPC tab, then drop down to Housing Furniture and select "When Targeted" or "Never".

Otherwise, we can only hope they'll give us non-interactive versions of the interactive items like the food items that are usually just used for decoration.

The ability to turn it on and off would be amazing. Then my walls and fishtank wouldn't randomly disappear.

+1, I need this to be a feature. At the bare minimum, move the ability to add wallpaper to blank partitions and flowers to vases needs to its own sub-menu like painting furniture has.

Even better would be the ability to disable the using of food items (and if this could allow for toggling between the 'full' and 'empty' models that would be great too!). Disabling the ability to toggle togglable furniture items like lights would also be great, and if in doing this the ability to leave items 'on' that normally cycle for a short while and then turn off (like some of the Coil furnishings) could be added, even better!

I've been working on furnishing a large house recently, and had to completely change my plans because by the time I had the top floor mostly done and was starting the ground floor, I'd hit the interactive item limit and stuff started winking out of existence at random. This was with the basement completely empty, even. 40 items is very low if you want to use blank partitions for much of anything, and if you want to have all the 'feature' items like the aesthetician and vendor NPCs in one place, that can eat up a good ten slots easy.

I'm really hoping that they're working on making this happen, seeing as there's going to be a feature next patch where you can mark your estate for roleplaying. Restaurant estates need this feature!

OMG, tabletop food should never have been interactable in the first place, but this is like entirely why I keep my apartment locked

Yes please remove the limit or add a slider for a higher max if it is a performance issue for eg. PS4 or the likes.

If you're worried about people stealing your food: Dont be. They cant interact with anything in your apartment/room/house anyways. You have to be a resident (owner, tenant, FC-member) of the living space in question to use any interactive item, including food. They can see it, but they cant eat it.

I do wish we could toggle food to be non-interactive. Had some food set out for decoration in FC house and I have a FC member who keeps eating it all, no matter what it is and I have no idea who it is (big fc). So now I just don't put food out and tables stay empty.

Fish tank would probably be to many different combinations to make non interactive (I think would have to be coded for every combination of fish, probably a few thousand different combinations, I'm not a coder though so dunno if there is a lightweight workaround.)

But stuff like flower pots or blank partitions would be great to static versions of (would probably still be a few hundred item codes)

I feel like they could just give aquarium maintenance its own menu tab under housing, too.
