Along with some of the already posted stuff the shrinking world and story lines. The earlier lands felt large and spread out. To some degree with HW and larger degree with SB the lands are small enough you can see from one end to the other even without flight. Heck even Eureka Anemos feels larger with the twists and turns. I get the feeling SE has determined the main story line costs too much and have decided to go cheap with cut and paste stuff like Eureka and deep dungeons.

I agreed with him cause his over all point was no matter what SE has done the complaints never ended. Things get hard the player base cries and things get nerfed, and thats been happening until SB honestly. Like you know it's bad when they had to make it a point to NOT nerf something like Weeping, or Shinryu. Those should not have been points. It's like sonic calling you inpatient. That should never happen I feel. So thats why I agreed with his post. You're free to not agree and thats fine, but SE is doomed no matter what they do. Look at the MHW event. WE finally got a 4 man ex and what do you see? People complaining it's too hard. Now if SE goes and nerfs it, THAT would be imo why we can't have nice things. It's cause the playerbase cries about EVERYTHING and SE listens - to the wrong things I add- but they do and change everything to where it's carebear land. This isn't to say SE is innocent but they are fucked no matter what they do. If they said -F you this is our game deal or leave- they are a horrible company, if they bend over backwards they will just break their back and people will STILL be unhappy. Thats how it looks from my end anyway. And it's not just a SE problem... this is mostly a gaming problem.

I would like the armory chest to work fine without me having to leave at least a slot in every tab empty just so I could switch classes. I mean what would be the point of that? That's 11 AC slots that you can't really use.

One thing that's wrong with the game. They don't take in account for all lag and disconnects ones get all the time.

That's not something I would like to see here.

I've never really had a problem with the amount of xp that FF14 quests give and this game already has a problem with an over-abundance of gil. Flooding the economy with more and not adding any new gil sinks (something we desperately need already) would only make matters worse in that regard.
If you want to level in FF14 you'll ignore quests and run dungeons until you can't see them anymore or PotD after it came out, you can't tell me that you've levelt good with the quests here. We only have a problem with too much gil because of the very intelligent players who buy gil and because there is absolutly nothing worth buying ingame what doesn't come from other players.

    -lore that sometimes impedes convenience
    -Repetitive formula
-Game's engine continues to reveal how outdated it gets year by year and cascades really badly into the game. For almost every little thing that should be in a world renowned mmorpg (more customization options, better storage values, etc), it can't be done
-Cash Shop shows no signs of being flexible. Its not the prices that get me as much as the lack of options. Can't buy separate pieces. No account wide options. The cart was finally added, which is a nice touch.
-The distinct impression that jpn playerbase is given far more attention than other regions. I'm not just talking about who they choose to hear first. I'm also talking about interactions between GMs and/or other staff that go beyond responding to support queries. (Like just having fun popping into the game and chatting it up with players).

There are some other things but they're not significant enough (for me) to put up as it changes depending on my mood. But for the above, that's what I really don't feel good about.

The quest xp is fine for the amount of xp it takes to lvl. If anything dungeons and PotD give disproportionately more than they should, but that comes from people wanting faster and faster methods of leveling. I wouldn't mind them adjusting quest xp, as long as they smoothed PotD/dungeons and the overall xp to level up as well so that they were all balanced against each other. In my experience, the MSQ and the specific dungeons it requires you to complete are enough to level one job to the cap without any side quests/PotD grinding. Sidequests I left for my alt jobs; usually I did them between dps dungeon queues.

Yeah, I'm gonna stop you right there. I've more gil than I need even after buying a home (the biggest gil-sink in game) for myself, one for my husband, and one for our FC. I've never once bought gold in any MMO, let alone FF14. Gil sellers are a blip on the larger issue of the messed-up economy in the game. We need more gil sinks; mounts, pets, any sort of cosmetic item they can throw at us (and honestly a lot of the cash shop items should be sold for in-game currency to siphon off some of the excess, but that's another discussion on it's own.) Regardless, throwing more gil at players will only exacerbate the problem, certainly not fix it.

This one is probably my second biggest gripe with the game, after the spaghetti code and its related issues.

I've never played on the JP servers or visited their forum, so I can't really say if it is actually better there or that is just an accusation that has been repeated so often it's been accepted as fact. Either way, I have felt on multiple occasions that there is a communication barrier between the playerbase and the devs/mods, and that it has been put in place and maintained by SE's own doing. It really feels like we have been blithely ignored and in some extreme cases actively silenced.

    · I don’t like classes starting at level 50 or 60. They should be leveled from level 1 as all other classes. Summoners will never learn how to operate a scholar because they are leveling it without playing the class, for example. Leveling up to 70 is a long trip. I find more fun in the trip rather than the goal.

    · as other user previously said, they are sticking to a formula tha was made 5 years ago. After all this time:
    - classes can not use more than one type of weapon
    - there is no elemental system (fire, wind, holy, earth, dark, thunder, water, ice, unaspected) making the game way too simple, especially for mages (BLM)
    - no skill combos
    - No support role
    - world doesn’t feel dangerous as in FFXI

    As per classes:
    - completely remove jobs, make them all classes (and all starting at level 1)
    - turn Arcanist into a necromancer or any other debuffer class (Oracle?)
    - completely separate scholar from summoner
    - make rogue/thief a real thing with “steal” and high survivality (“flee”)
    - give us a beastmaster, a blue mage, a geomancer and a dancer

    As per the game
    - open world group leveling and PvP, this game needs to be heavily uninstanced
    - a more dangerous world
    - notorious monsters with great items (watch out for bots)

If you’re going to say “this is not XI” save it for yourself. Im not looking for XI in XIV. The point of this post is simple: Yoshida MUST take some chances amd risks and stop sticking to “the formula” that much.

    The Materia System

Okay, I'm going to try to keep this short because I could go on about how horrible the materia system is, especially for crafters.

It's honestly one of the worst systems in the game. They could maybe revamp this into being something fun, but instead it's just RNG that costs you time and/or gil.

You know what? Forget it. I'm just going to sum it up with this.

This is how I feel every time I'm melding to be able to craft:

Why? Just why? Why would you make your players suffer like this?

The whole overmelding nonsense is pretty much the main reason I gave up on being a serious crafter/gatherer. I did it once way back in 2.1 and after then decided to never inflict that pain on myself again.
