    I feel like they are punishing the players for doing what players do -- and that is to find the most efficient route through anything. I feel like Pagos wasn't even play-tested. In no way is killing 500+ blood demons fun. I don't care if other MMOs do it this way. They are built around the creation of chaining skills for growth, and FFXIV is not.


    I also feel like we're being punished even asking for things -- like with the Centurio mount. They could've made that something obtainable by working on the entire set of hunting bills, not just A and S ranks. Or attainable over time through centurio seals by buying some sort of component from different lands (so instead of "Mark of the X" achievement, we get a thing which we can trade toward the item we want). I mean there are so many ways they could've handled that better other than sticking it under a hunt grind that is totally random.

    PVP is absurdly broken and exploitable and doesn't get the attention it needs in order to be a viable part of the game. It feels like more of an afterthought. Throw in exclusive stuff and you've got people who will stop at nothing (including cheating, trading, boosting) to make sure they get it. Not everyone, of course, but it happens enough to make the majority of the playerbase not even want to consider this aspect of the game because really, why bother?

    I realize that every player on the forum has an opinion on how things should be done, but time and time again we've offered so much feedback that just seems like it either falls on deaf ears, or it gets listened to and promptly chucked in the circular file. We love this franchise and what the game has become and we don't want to see it wither on the vine. If improvements are coming, they may be too little too late.

    They keep pandering to the same group of players over and over and ignore criticism for years if they ever decide to address it all.

    Look at people still defending Eureka as some sort of true spiritual successor to Final Fantasy XI. And all they had to say was, "we created this thing that is kinda sorta vaguely like this other thing we made a long time ago." And people eat it up. Hence, pandering.

    The game is doing great in my opinion, there's a ton of fun stuff to do and I'm very excited come next patch, expansion etc...
    My only complain is WHERE IS MY BLITZBALL? XD other than that I'm happy playing the game hehe cheers!.

    I'm new to this game. I can't tell you about anything higher than level 55. Here's what's annoying me now. Some dungeons are harder than others. I'm starting to think that tanks are intentionally undergearing and trolling the hard ones. I can't guess why they'd do it, but I've been in two today where the tank in a level 35+ dungeon was wearing level 20 gear. My suggested remedy: To qualify for a dungeon match, your gear level should be good enough for it, not your class/job level. It would at least force the trolls to make a gear set to annoy people with. It would be even better if, once you are in a dungeon, nobody can change gear. At least for the roulettes. It's foolish to spend 90 minutes on a roulette because some guy thinks it funny to keep losing aggro and getting the healer and mage killed.

    OTOH Most of the game has been surprisingly well thought out and free of trolls. This is the exception, not the rule.

    The game is okay.

    I think the biggest issue is that the content can't really scale well. By this I mean there's no real happy middle, it's either really accessible, or a long or hard thing. Frontlines and Feast, Normal and Savage, etc. They can't bridge it, because it's actually a hard game if they make it hard to any level.

    I think too they seem to want to cater a bit more to the hardcore end now. Ultimate for example, the ex rath trial, the energy spent on competitive feast, etc. But they can't really grow the hardcore much though; it just gets too hard or too painful beyond a point. So they kind of have an identity crisis now.

    What's wrong with the game is that it hasn't changed since release. It's the same recycled content each expansion. Some people criticized WoW for the changes it has made over the years, but it's definitely helped keep the game feeling fresh.

    FFXIV has added a few new things here and there, but have done nothing to shake up the formula in so long that the game feels like it's spinning it's wheels. I love FFXIV, but I can't deny its become stagnant.

    Dungones are mindless that follow the same formula and hasn’t changed at all and are only challenging in the first run

    The open areas, while gorgoues, are just....there the exploration in the game is kinda boring with enemies barley being a threat and lack any reason to visit the new 12 areas besides beast tribes (Azim steppe/Churnning mists) and hunts

    Fates are useless, not enough incentive to do them which is a dam shame since I like them especially ones that unlock other fates

    Raids lack that extra challenge and have no real reason to be sacred to die

    Trials are mostly ok, but the same issue applies with dungeons and raids. Just lacks a manner of threat, like if we wipe nothing much will happen

    Eureka is dreadful, grind isn’t fun and is a horrible way to introduce the lv70 relic weapons, the maps aren’t that bad imagine a eureka template in the overworld?


    +Wish we had savage dungeons or just anything that isn’t “use aoes for trash mobs, fight boss”
    Formula that we’ve been following for 5 years
    + wish fates had some sort of currency to buy gear or glam anything to make them feel useful besides exp and relic quests
    +wish the overworld had more flavor like classic MMOs have

    “Guys! <insert NM> just spawned and drops <insert relevant drop> I need”


    I like ff14 but it could be better

    As people said it's the formula that's "wrong".
    Every patch is the same thing with only the MSQ story keeping it interesting.
    Dugeons are way too easy and too linear. The overworld provides nothing to do apart from lvling and gathering. The PvP has been stale as well. They could try siege battle type content for PvP.
    They do not dare to take some risks and try to do something new.
    While gear is easy to take in this game I do not like how fast our gear becomes obsolete.
    The new Pagos weapon will be dust in just 1 & 1/2 months from now. It's hard to obtain yet it will become dust so soon. It's only the glamour that keeps me doing it.
    They play it too safe with the development. They do not seem to ramp up and evolve the game.
    That being said this boring formula kinda works and this is the reason they stick with it. The game is healthy so why change anything?
    When and if they start losing a considerable amount of subscription outside of the oridinary expansion/patch cycle maybe they will reconsider how they develop content.

    I don't understand players who say "If you don't like it, don't play it"

    They just don't understand that WE LIKE IT (in a way) it's because we like our character, the story and Eorzea that we are willing to express everything that is wrong and we would want to see changes ! I don't want to leave the game forever and to let my character go forever but if nothing changes I will have too, one day.

    After everything FFXIV have been through, it deserves much much better than what we have right now.

    I’ll say this; I’ve learned to appreciate the design of the game, and how it’s content is trickled in a way where those like myself who don’t have more than a couple of hours or so, still accomplish something. However...

    I wish there was content like this:
    Dynamis - a way to get new relic (large scope battlefields)
    Limbius - a way to increase its iLvl
    Walk of Echoes - content for accessories
    Sea/Sky bosses.

    Idk stuff to do around the beautiful world they crafted. Utilize the resources they’ve worked so hard make!
