The Praetorium - Could not find a group

Last night my partner and I waited in queue for The Praetorium for an hour plus and could not get a group. We are quite sad that our MSQ is gated behind a group event where it seems to be pretty inactive. Can we kindly ask for help? We play on Tonberry GMT+8 usually 8pm onwards. Would deeply appreciate the assistance!

Firstly, welcome to Eorzea!

I'm also on the same time zone as you (Perth, Australia) but unfortunately I am on a different server (Balmung), otherwise I would happily run you both through Praetorium as it's pretty easy now to solo even at level 60 (I think level 51 would find it too difficult to solo/duo though). Doing that dungeon unsynced/undermanned is probably the better alternative to trying to queue for it through Duty Finder as it's becoming increasingly shunned by 'end-game' players.

Hey there! Thanks for the advice. May I know how do you run it unsync? You mean like literally invite people to party and walking into the dungeon directly instead of queuing via the duty finder?

By the way, there is a chance to get Praetorium via the Roulette MSQ right? We did it 3 times and it was always the first MSQ =.=.

Hello! I'm on your server group so could help you out if you still need it.

Do either of you have a tank or healer class you could queue with? That will get you in a lot faster as they are in higher demand.

And yes, the MSQ roulette covers both those dungeons (and nothing else). I'm a little surprised you can run that already though - I thought it would only unlock after you've beaten them both. Is it available as soon as you've unlocked the Praetorium?


Re. running dungeons unsynched, you go into the options for the Duty Finder menu and tick the box that says "undersized parties". Then you select your duty as normal, and you'll get in straightaway with just your current party, and won't be synched down to the normal dungeon level.

Yes, she is queuing as healer. I am running as dpser though. Appreciate the help. We are able to party despite cross server? I didn't know that. I'll add you in about 2-3 hours time when I reach home.

I've worked it out before - you can't just contact people from other servers, but you can set up a "private party" in Party Finder and then people from any server in the data centre can join it.

One more thing to keep in mind. Tonberry might be an unofficial aussie server, but its still on one of the japanese data centers. If your language settings dont have you matching up with japanese players as well as english speaking ones your ques will always be longer then they need to be. And yes, party finder lets you group up with anyone from the same data center as you are.

Oh yeah, language settings! If you’ve got it set to English only, the queue is a lot longer. (I don’t think it affects roulettes, but it does affect direct queues.)

To add on what is already said above, you can access the language settings using the "small circle with a cog in it" on the upper right hand corner of the Duty Finder tab. And I'll repeat it for emphasis, pick the Japanese language if you want a faster Duty Finder queue. Since one of you is a healer, the queue attempts should be faster in the future.

Language settings affect all roulette queues except Leveling Roulette.
