Which is a challenge too. Dodging actually requires some sort of skill, unlike the so-called 'mechanics' that just involve doing a specific thing at a specific time. For mechanics, the biggest challenge is simply finding out how to counter them. Since they stop being a challenge once you do, they are made more challenging in fights by adding multiple layers to them, like adding adds, other attacks in quick succession/simultaneously or other things to grab the players attention making following simple instructions harder.

Also, things being challenging doesn't mean that skilled players won't be able to do them with ease. It just means that there is a certain skill floor that is higher than less challenging content for clearing it. As posts around the forum show, there are those with significant difficulty in clearing it so it is challenging, but people that do not do extreme normally are able to clear it so the challenge is still lower than the typical extreme. Why?! Exactly because it's generally one thing at a time with this fight. You just need to focus on surviving his individual attacks which come one after another rather than all at once. And since nearly all of them can be avoided, a player that's skilled and is not crippled by huge latency will be able to do it consistently.

I'm not telling anybody to like it or not like it. But saying things that have no bearing on reality about it just because someone doesn't like it or finds it too challenging is not fine.

In fact I say this morning that if ppl don’t like it, find it boring or too hard they may just not do it at all. I personally did 15 clears as tank for armour,boots and pig, I won’t definitely do it anymore because I don’t think is worth so much time and effort. Honestly I never did a birds or ponies farm because I never cared, I you can get now ponies doing the trial unsync when there is nothing else to do lol
Still I run Byakko Ex and Tsu Ex over 100 times because I wanted all weapons(:

You probably where imagining already this trials to be “Ex” but tbh me and many other were expecting this event to be really easy and clearable with no difficulty, I was disappointed when I realised you need practice,guides and video lol that’s why ppl are complaining and got deluded when they realised was so difficult to get the mount.
If was suppose to be that difficult I didn’t know but probably a bit more accessibile maybe will be better.

Conception of difficulty often is really personal, I find Byakko much easier than Rath and super fun, like I think O5S it’s tremendous but 06s/07s feels easier and smoother to run, most of ffxiv player are not prepared to this type of gameplay that’s all (:
