I felt compelled to like the post before even reading it, and after having read it I am in agreement.

If they like... lowered mob HP and increased the exp they gave that's be one major step into making me like the content more. All it is now is a carpal tunnel simulator. My wrist got pretty bad in anemos (but at least NM trains broke the monotony).

    I agree 110%

i woke up Tuesday morning excited to play the new content in FFXIV. The Rathalos MHW crossover stuff i found awesome a touch grindy but fun and engaging, unfortunately outside of that the 2nd part of Eureka was a giant tire fire. I found it after playing a few days to be extremely boring and mind numbing, the content itself feels like the devs no longer care about their player base or listen to us, i played FFXI and honestly i would rather level from scratch in that game then FFXIV and that's sad. Eureka feels empty and thoughtless from the devs and if this is what they produced after 2 years they need new people bad because the team they got now is going to strangle the life from this game i hope the devs see this thread because they need a wake up call

I really really hate people trying to give this excuse. It has NOTHING to do with ffxi!!!! you can't put a FFXI style grind in ffxiv because it simply doesn't work. FFXIV you are keeping tight rotations in small amount of times (2 sec OCD then using OGCDS while that is on cooldown) People only say that because ffxi = grind so any long grind = ffxi, it is a huge fallacy comparison and an invalid one. The reason is because in ffxi you semi afk a lot and could type as you auto attacked and cast spells, you did not need a high apm in ffxi so long sittings worked in that game. You cannot bring that to FFXIV's combat system and because of that, they are not alike and can never be alike.

My girlfriend was flipping out within 10 minutes of entering with me because it was basically repeating all of Anemos. Furthermore, SE did not listen to the warnings of having a wall for new players to pass by, that is Anemos is dead so how does someone at level 1 progress? The thing with my girlfriend however, did LONG grinds in ffxi, like having all jobs max leveled before abyssea existed, fully upgraded relic, did all endgame among others, and hates Eureka while on the stance Pagos did nothing to address the issues that existed in Anemos.

I know you hate it, but even when approached by GameWatch in an interview, and they made the reference of it being "like FFXI" Yoshi didn't really disagree with the comparison, he just underlined the things why they would see it that way

It sounds like the world of FFXI in Eureka.

Yoshida: Things like NMs (notorious monsters) will make use of FFXIV systems, like the FATE mechanism, to allow anyone to fight them, but it is a bit like older generation gameplay.

Completely agree with all of the original post.... add in the fact I just grinded for an hour plus, died, and lost double my experience including deleveling to 19.... thanks!

Sad thing is people wanted FFXI style content. I would honestly say the fault also lies with them since they demanded it and the devs made the mistake of listening. I wish there were alternate ways to level outside of mob grinds and follow the train, but that's what I need to do I guess.

    Objection!

This is absolutely nothing like any FFXI content. The closest thing would be the level up process of camping in one spot and grinding mobs, but it's not even anything like that.

Does this look like Eureka? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRH95CLILFk

When people ask for FFXI content, they are typically asking for... you know, the kinds of content that FFXI had. The leveling process is not content.

I agree 100% with everything OP said.

    - It's not optional cause we want/need relics. Current i370 relic will be BIS for me until Godka is down or to next tier, which we'll get new raid weapons and relic anyhow.

    - While as an 12 year playing FF11 veteran I do enjoy seeing iconic gear pieces like the O-hat, Vermillion minion, Speed Belt and Cassie's Earring it far from the real FF11 experience. When I'm thinking adding 11 content to 14, I'd think more like taking inspiration from it's own content. Relic building, endgame events. No we got 2003 styled exp grind. No thank you.

    - Anemos was a sleepfest with endless grinding a couple levels with and without challange log then half afk watching netflix and ride fate train. I havn't tried Pagos more than half a level and I don't see how it very different in design apart from a snowy skin and bunnies.

    - Relic quests in ARR and HW wasn't perfect but they were more interesting and easier accessible, not to mention not being delayed upon delayed like Eureka been. What annoys me even more is that Eureka was pushed as a Stormblood feature while we got it half into the expansion cycle and does not live up to the hype.

I agree. I had want to see something like Dynamis, Jailor pops or Apollyon.

I fully agree with the OP. If I wanted to suffer in Vana'diel, I wouldn't bother playing in Eorzea.

Where? You'll have to elaborate. All you did is mention how it made you feel.

Just within the first 10 second I can already see that the number of people on screen is extremely different. The number of enemies as well. The number of button presses is about 50x less. The pace is nothing alike. And the goal of killing those enemies is killing the enemies in and of itself, not waiting for something else to happen.
