As a raider I have zero incentive to play Pagos, I went in there twice for a total of about ~1.5 hours with both. There was only a really slow chain pull grind, noped out right away. I do enjoy grinds at times, but FF14 and grinding just doesn't work for me.
Game is just not fun as a grinder, unless they changed the combat system entirely to something more interesting then the paint by numbers system we have. Of which they actually have ZERO desire to stated in some interview or live letter.
How could they make this better? Dunno tbh, there are too many avenues they can take but none that could be done on Pagos without a complete rework of content. A 30 minute 8 man queue-able dungeon with magicite and an endless spawn of enemies and other random encounters would probably lessen the burden of the grind. Same idea would work as an alliance raid as well if EXP is shared, less burden on the player to be in a constant combat state.

I'd argue NO ONE has an incentive to go into Pagos. The tome weapons are the same ilevel for a fraction of the grind, and in a month mendacity will be uncapped when the new tome set rolls out.
I actually liked using Anemos as a tome capping method instead of expert....
Pagos was a step backwards from what Anemos was. Chain killing mobs for experience is not fun. Anemos it made sense because rewards plus nm spawn spam. At least in Anemos people conversed and had fun too. Pagos is depressing in setting and in reality. I don't mind snow, but it only contributes to the aesthetic of this grind. Maybe once you're at the high levels it's not so bad but hot damn I liked Anemos and encouraged people to do it but this is ridiculous. Considering that the amount of time left on this specific content is super limited this feels like it was just thrown out half done, and they said it was good enough because they have content coming down the highway in a few weeks. I have taken a notice, at least in my personal social circle, that less and less people are getting online. The people who are interested in HoH dropped pretty quick and then people are just straight noping out of pagos. I hope that the hotfixes breathe some life in to pagos because as it stands it is the worst bit of social content I have seen. I even liked diadem 0,0
"Fanboy is gaming jargon used to describe an individual that has gone beyond the point of being a PC or console game fan and, during online chats or discussions, shifts to defend the program at all costs, unable to take any criticism or acknowledge any shortcomings of the game or gaming console."
This is exactly what going to happen, is happening, and will not be stopped. This content has ZERO replay value, no incentive to go beyond getting your clear and never coming back. SE has made it a miserable slog fest, and they couldn't care less what we say. If you wanna make a point about this content to SE, unsubscribe; that seems to be the only way to get their attention. We all know what will happen here, cause it's already happening, people are rushing to get the weapon/weapons and then when they get it? They WILL stop doing it, because the grind is too much, and pagos will slowly start to die, leaving those left behind SOL. They should of just kept it like Anemos, because Anemos was better in terms of people working together and such..now all I see in pagos is every man for themselves and it's just a mess. It's boring as hell too. The event's jump puzzle was more fun than Pagos LOL

I agree. What pissed me off the most was that mounts were gated behind lvls AGAIN! Who would even consider this from a design point? Regardless of if you have a mount of not, running through mobs higher levels than you can still get you killed. The lack of a mount at the start of the content shows how archaic their conception of a "grind" really is and just makes Pagos literally a slog through the snow.
Lets put it in terms developers can relate to. You build a great engine to run a game on and once that game is developed, the engine is removed and you have to remake it again to build another game. This is both a waste of time and money and no developer in their right mind would do such a thing purely out of common sense and business sense.
The Animated and Awoken steps of the anima were blue as well. This is the relic they're giving us this expansion, and this is the way to get it.
And if I wasn't allergic to schedules, just getting my Savage weapon would be an option. Unfortunately, I have no desire to commit to something like a static. I left a game controlling my life behind in EQ. I didn't mind the steps in the previous weapons, even the books, because you could do them a little at a time and it was something you could even do alone on some steps waiting for roulettes and such. You also had a wider variety of content to participate in to progress. This is just mindless and boring. And with the levels raising and no way to level sync, it has potential to be something you could lose out on completely if you don't do it RIGHT NOW since no one will want a low level in their group dragging it down.
