Launcher acts like I have no SE account; can't log in

    Hello,
Today my PC has crashed/bluescreened two times, shortly after logging in-world to FFXIV. My main concern right now, however, is that after restarting my PC for the second time and opening the FFXIV launcher, it acts as if I have not yet made a Square Enix account.

I know my account does in fact still exist, since I'm still able to use Lodestone. I am unable to get past this incorrect launcher. Any help would be great.

    - Platform: PC
    - Type of connection: Wired
    - Other programs running while the game is playing: Discord, Firefox
    - Frequency at which error occurs: Every time
    - Everything you have tried to resolve the issue: Restarted. Shut down PC. Updated Antivirus.

Log in to the mogstation and check if you have a subscription active. If your subscription has run out you can't login to the launcher which might be what is happening here.

My sub is still ongoing. I was able to log in completely today, but after about a minute I would crash. This happened twice before the game wouldn't let me in anymore. I also played the game just fine yesterday, sans a few brief hiccups that seemed PC-related.

With a bit more searching I resolved my launcher issue. What I did was:

Went to documents > my games > final fantasy xiv

Changed the file "FFXIV_BOOT.cfg" so that it says

"StartupCompleted 1" instead of "StartupCompleted 0"

Now that just leaves my crashing issue. It could just be the heat, so I'm having an extra fan blow on it. Seems to work so far.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Can you elaborate on the kind of crash you are having? When exactly does this occur and is there a pattern to it? Do you receive a specific error message?

Do you receive the same issue when running the game in DirectX 9 mode?

Can you submit a Final Fantasy XIV system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!
