Selling in game content for real life money

All of these players are selling in game content for real life money, they dont like to speak about pricing on game client chat, they ask you to add them on discord so they can tell you they want real life money, is there anyway SE can stop this ? maybe prohibit players who want to sell in game content to use their discord ID ?? im not sure im just thinking of a solution.

I wish SE would take them all down. I don't care if its not hurting anyone. It's wrong and messes up the party finder. If se can ban for bad words on a forum then there's no excuse for those to be unpunished.

It would be hard for SE to do something like that. With it being a voice chat it would come to a he said/she said thing. Unless they would have something in the text channels which if they are smart they would not. Also with it being so easy to make a discord server a person can have several Discord IDs. Yeah what they are doing is against TOS but using a voice chat to sell is just another loop-hole they have found.

There is actualy a colum for "hired fighting" but they dont use is and thats what annoys me the most... "oh theres a tsuko party - no wait they just sell stuff..." >_>

I do that every time I see an expert there and then it's a troll selling content. Makes me rage instantly everytime.

If people weren't willing to pay, it wouldn't be an issue.

Gaming companies really need to go after the buyers just as much as they go after the sellers. It's the buyers that keep the sellers in business.

This topic has been brought up numerous times and GMs, community reps and the developers have been completely silent on it. The closest thing to a comment on the topic was a reminder that RMT is against the ToS. A solution is as simple as classifying the ads in the image as RMT, which shows how low of a priority this is for SE. The players could push through a fix of their own, but to comment further would be against the ToS.

You could try reporting them to see if that makes any difference.

They can't do anything about parsing then, either. They have no proof someone is parsing. They could have guessed the numbers, looked at a party member's stream or were told the numbers by another member of the party through outside channels.

It's not against the rules to hire people to take you through content for gil (or even for free). Nothing they say in game will be trace-able to the fact that we know it's being done for real money, which is where the issue is. You need proof to be able to ban someone. The other part of the issue is you can only use the game to hold accountability. In other terms, anyone can claim to be anyone outside of the game, so unless you get proof of people selling content for money in game, and not Discord (or whatever platform they wish to use), there is no actual proof that it is this particular person.

I won’t get into ethics of buying/selling clears, but the PF spam should have something done about it. If only making it to where you cannot advertise under any of the duty content tags, and any PF listings found to be in violation are deleted immediately — implement one of those right-click report features like they do for Report RMT. I’d rather not see them; the spam is annoying to sift through.

They already don’t do anything about parsing, aside from telling people to basically don’t advertise that you’re doing it. Not sure why parsing is being brought up, once again, though, in a thread that has nothing to do with it.
