If you like playing at one frame per second and half hour load times, go for it.
That's not how shardless worlds work, but I lold anyways. Essentially you would still have 10 or 18 or however many servers you have in a traditional system, but all of the servers are running together to support one unified world. So you might be sitting in Uldah #47, where as your buddy that you're sending /tells is in Uldah #21.
The pro is that you can switch instances if someone is annoying you, and you never have to worry about friends being on other servers, but of course people will complain that prevents a decent community from building up. My opinion is that neither traditional or shardless is better, just different.
The ideal server system for any MMORPG would be to only need a single server system (RE: world) for everyone to play on.
1 server would be the best solution, let us know when it will be possible to do such a thing.
