If I am Party Leader I give 3-5 mins, then boot. Unless the person was terrible (either player or person) then auto boot from me.

Wait around 5 minutes, if they DC'd in the middle of a pull I'll start counting when the last enemy is dead. If they're a tank or healer I may wait a little more, if it's a DPS I'll go all the way to the next boss and there wait 5m. Sometimes stuff happens, net goes out bc of your ISP, modem acting up, random blackout, the cat just decides to throw the modem 'cause you didn't feed him...
If I'm on RDM, I don't care, I can probably do the whole dungeon by myself.
Joking aside, I don't like it when the party immediately votes to dismiss someone who DCd. Give them some time! Sometimes I get randomly disconnected too and whenever I am, I try to get back as fast as physically possible. Factoring in the time required to reset stuff on the software (including giving Steam enough time to reconnect) and, in extreme cases, hardware end, I think it's reasonable to wait up to 5 minutes for someone to get back. Past that, it's likely to be a longer outage or (this happened to me a few times) a surprise Windows update someone forgot to postpone. At that point, I think it's okay to look for replacement.
Dungeons generally aren't that hard anyways. There are no mechanics that require full-party teamwork to proceed and fighting is almost never down to the wire. You can do small pulls and even most bosses without one or even both DPS (I've never hit an enrage timer, I'm not sure if dungeon bosses even have one?), or if your tank is a PLD they can often sustain without a healer, or if one of your DPS happens to be RDM, they can easily cover healing (until mana runs out). In a pinch, you can even use Titan-egi to... kinda... tank... okay not really but in theory it should work with most of tank-and-spank AAR bosses.
You're not penalised for dying in a dungeon much (beyond adding a handful more gil to the repair bills) so even if pressing on gets you wiped, it's at least more engaging than standing around and waiting. It doesn't hurt (that much) to try.

I try to wait 10 mins at latest. Cause shit happens. Comcast is a thing and being in that dc spot where 5 mins just wasnt enough? I give 10 mins. Cause sometimes shit really does happen and it's not the persons fault. Course I'm not super sonic inpatient either.

I give em around 5 minutes or so before I decide to kick em. Though one time that time passed, I voted to kick, and he came back on, though it was too late to retract the kick, whether or not he fixed his internet or anything else that caused him to DC lol.

5 minutes at least. If they have a friend saying they are trying to get back, I would wait longer.
I aim for 5 minutes before bringing it up.
I've been vote kicked once out of a 24-man raid due to my connection dropping. The raid was almost done, i was gone maaaaybe 2 minutes, and I came back to a 'you've been dismissed' screen. It sucked![]()

Draw on their face with a permanent marker.
Or wait a few minutes. Unless I'm in some kind of severe rush, but then I wouldn't queue for a dungeon in the first place.

I'll wait 5 minutes or so to allow the person time to get back in. If the player or someone in the group says they are having problems and need to reboot or whatever I am willing to wait even longer.

Generally speaking, I am going to allow them time to log back in. It's happened to me, and I feel I should extend the same courtesy to the community at the very least.
In your situation as I read it, I would have likely opposed the booting. It appears the group thought you were trolling, and if I felt you were not I would have defended your case even after they booted you. You really have to be careful booting a healer or tank. Any group who does can be waiting a long time for a replacement. Because of that, I also have to mention that I was not there, and my decision could easily go the other way if I felt your activity was abrasive or malicious.
