    Dungeon ideas and adjustments

    So was thinking back on all the dungeons we have so far in the game, and I do wish there was more additions and adjustments to make dungeons more interesting rather than a rinse/repeat kind of deal.

    As well some sorely needed adjustments.

    1) I do wish they bring back the Random Chance encounter that FF has always been known for, this way the Adds in each dungeon can always be unique encounters whenever you run the dungeon and will never be same the same placement enemies except for key placement enemies. Though I do wonder they don't do it if it has to do with server strain (I'm unsure).

    2) Also I do think they need to slightly reduce the HP a bit for those trying to do synced battles, Adds really don't present much of a challenge if we're being honest here and just feels like filler content rather than actual content, Alliance Raids though being the exception since there is a lot of people doing DPS.

    Though I wonder if this was by design, and later 70/80/90 dungeons are going to be the real challenge.

    What are some ideas and changes you like to see concerning most of the dungeons in this game?

    I've always wanted the enemies to change location to add a little excitement to dungeons, at the moment once you've run something you literally know where everything is, leaving it to be quite a scripted experience. Not sure if it is a server issue though, but it could be nice to include a random encounter like in the Hidden Canals when the Golden Whisker can appear, giving the party a chance at some bonus loot. Perhaps random trademark mascots can appear who knows, would be cool at least.

    dungeon design will always be bland and the actual difficulty level of netflix afk due to wanting 100% of the player base to be able to do it.

    I honestly agree with the first choice as a new player. It's hard enough for me to run/pull through one path with a random group. Even with the slight deviations for treasure rooms there would be confusion. Like, if I skipped past a room everyone would need to course correct to keep up with me.

    I wouldn't mind having a bit more random chance elements though.

    I'd settle for an higher difficulty on average, for example getting a vuln stack actually hurting, more TB and usage of arena floor, there are many things that should be improved first imho before adding other venues

    I would like different difficulty modes for dungeons. Keep the status quo for base line, then add certain criteria making increasingly difficult tiers (ei. permanent vuln stacks, healing down, AOE abilities locked out, constant HP/MP drain, ect...)

    I like the idea of different pathways that are forced. So for example, a particular dungeon pathway will be blocked off if you don't get there by a certain time limit, or complete certain objectives to open a path that would otherwise be blocked. Another option are traps. Think Qarn and the stone tablet riddle. In this case though, incorrect player input would spring a trap, taking the party to a different area of the dungeon.

    I know for the most part, dungeons need to remain casual and linear. But that doesn't mean they can't be made a little more interesting.

    Speaking of that Golden Whisker guy, that would be a fun a addition to add a rare monster in all dungeons that has a small chance to spawn. There is a lot of off-path areas in dungeons that most players would visit only once, and never visit it again so it give players incentive to explore off-path areas once more.

    Would be a cool callback to most FF games that did rare monsters that gave good stuff or EXP/Gil.

    As for rare monsters, maybe something like that Pink Pudding looking creature from FF4 as one example.
