What was the design reason behind the Rathalos Armor Set?

No really. Have people LOOKED at the female set? I can live, grudgingly, with the lack of the nice coat. FINE. Not happy, but FINE.

I might use PARTS of this set for a galmour. I despise 'frilly' 'cute' 'revealing' outfits for the most part. I don't do the 'doll' thing. So the boots and the gloves have my interest. But wyvern scale panties just... yeah no. All kinds of 'wtf mate?'

I suppose we should be glad that Eorzean smiths are at least somewhat able to keep their aesthetic preferences in check when it comes to metal, or else the chastity belt would end up being the most common leg "armor" 'round these parts.

I'm not keen on the male set myself. I was hoping for something a bit more on the wild side. At least the augmented torso would look okay in a battlemage glam, I suppose. Overall, very disappointing.

Maybe the lead costume designer was on summer vacation and couldn't be reached to do it? I'd just like some insight into the design choice for a reskin/recolor of a existing armor set. Did Square lose a bit with Capcom or something?

I would assume the lead designer is the one responsible, with all the incredibly samey gear we get. Like they just made a sorta rathalos texture for the tank coat model that they love so much.

I don't particularly mind the armor, however I am not a fan of Monster Hunter and the bulky aesthetic their armors have is unappealing to me anyways.

I would hope that considering the event is going to be permanent that new/more gear will be added in the future. Although extra trials would be cool as well l I just don't see the armour at the moment being enough for what it's worth. I mean both the FFXIII and Yo-Kai events offered a variety of weapons (whether they look good or not) but at least the glamour stuff was more than a couple sets of armour.

I took it to mean that it would need to be re-rated, but not necessarily that the rating would have gone up to an M. Just that the ratings committee would have to look at it before they could add it. And also that they can only get the game rated when they have a release like an expansion, so they weren't able to do so for the crossover.

I've never really thought about it before but I guess it makes sense, otherwise games could get rated as E and then add more mature stuff in as an update to cheat the rating system.

to me they look a lot like the real rathalos armor with all the monster-y bits removed for whatever reason.
Almost like we just got the gambison that all the scales were sewed onto
