Also, I saw a post on another forum that said what fills the Down Gauge are GCD hits, not dmg. Towards the end we tested this, and it seems to be the case. So don't bother wasting oGCDs while it's in flight. Casters should spam whatever their fastest spell is (Scathe for BLM, Ruin II for SMN/SCH, etc) until it's downed, then resume an actual DPS rotation.
Nice tip you got there,Will try it out later.

Also it would be nice to be able to exchange normal scales to scales+.
Like 40 scales for 1 scales+ or something.

I still can't get this done in ex. If I'm lucky to find a good party that gets to the final phase the problem here is that Rathalos gives no warning he's gonna charge you. He just turns and charges and any slight delay in latency and no matter how fast you run you cannot avoid being run down. I'm sorry but it needs tweaking because it's too unfair to people who aren't living right next to the data center.

I've got ~35 hours in No Mans Sky. here's a few pointers I've picked up from that that should help here:

Whilst you're learning the fight, try to drop the stack marker puddles on the edge of the arena and pick a direction to run in (clockwise or anti clockwise ideally). This will reduce the risk of people trapping themselves or leaving themselves with no room to dodge the following dive, a tidy arena is an good arena!

Think about your positioning! Several people have stated this but I'll say it again. If you feel that this fight is luck based, you are wrong (outside of the lottery that is finding people able to do it in PF that is!). If you feel that this fight gives no warning to get out of the way, you are also wrong. Think launch day Titan HM. You just need to adjust to the pace of the encounter and react faster. Everything is absolutely avoidable if you pay attention, stay focused and think ahead a little! Always ensure you have room to run sideways, putting yourself in a gap between two puddles is going to get you killed, wedging yourself with the wall on your right and someone on your left is going to get you killed. Standing 5 yalms infront of him is going to get you killed. Your rotation isn't important whilst RathEX is in the air, so concentrate on what's happening around you instead. If you have multiple ranged, try to leave a gap big enough for Rath to dive between you both so you're not costing each other GCDs.

If you've got a caster or ranged: burn the tail down to 15-20% on the first drop but do not kill it, any extra dps should be on Rath's body. On the next drop, try to burn Rath down to 30% or less. As soon as you've got 3-4 seconds left on the stun, LB both the tail and body. The tail will get destroyed and Rath will run a short distance away, as soon as he has stopped running, LB him again if he isn't already dead.

If you've got 2 tanks: let them deal with the stack marker on them, the healer and dps shouldn't go in if they haven't got the marker. This saves a lot of GCDs.

Look for an animation where he holds his wings and head up into the air. The only other attack that shares a similar animation is the targeted fireball (which has his mouth open and flames inside his maw), which he holds that pose for a long time. This signifies he's charging and to get out of the way. He does a small "rawr" when he gets into pose for the charge. Again, if you're not standing in front of him, he must turn to you, giving you extra time to recognize what attack is being done.

You're wrong. A lot of people had to give up on launch day Titan HM because difference in latency meant they couldn't avoid mechanics that needed you to make a fraction of a second decision. Rathalos doesn't even give you much of a warning in the final phase that he's coming for you let alone whether you have a perfect connection or not, he just blinks at you and you're dead. At least Titan gave some indication that he was gonna drop a landslide or ground puddle underneath you. I'd have Titan HM over Rathalos any day.

He only does this in the first phase, in the second phase he's pretty much instantly coming for you. I don't see any poses, he just turns my way and I'm dead even if I think I got out of the way. I aint the only one who sees this as an issue, another friend of mine plays on a PS4 so he is at an even bigger disadvantage and he says he tries to predetermine when it's about to charge and it still kills him.

He only have 3 attacks in second phase:
    - Targeted triple fireball,
    - Fire spray directly in front of him,
    - Poison claw charge.

That's it. If you're not in front of him, you never need to worry about the spray. If he's not charging up triple fireball, assume he is doing poison claw. Also, keep an eye on the name of his target - he literally does the mechanic at whoever is listed (even the triple fireballs). Same applies as first phase, being at his sides means he must turn to you, giving you extra time to react. He always does poison claw after triple fireball, as well. Rathalos also does a little "hop" (floats up, whatever) at the start of the charge.

    What is your usual ping?

I got hit a few times due to not moving quick enough when learning the fight, but after that I move immediately if he turns at me and I can get out of the way every time.

I'm a bit jittery though and sometimes I move needlessly cause he turned at someone else, but I try to be safe than sorry.
