    I am not a fan of this fight at all. It's basically a huge middle finger to melee dps. I haven't played Monster Hunter, so I don't know how it translates, but the sheer amount of stun + dot makes this so unfun. Getting hit once is basically a death sentence. Not to mention being knocked back, stunned, then hit again before you can heal, and dying. The amount of damage the enemy does is just WAY too high. Even if I was to compare it to a souls game, you can take a few hits, and you have MANY more options.

    This really just felt like Stone Vigil HM will more damage, shorter telegraphs, a healing limit (stack marker and roar), and a death limit.

    I'm all for hard content, but this isn't hard. It's punishing, and punishing is never fun.

    Edit: To be clear, I like content like this and I want to see more of it, but in it's current state, it isn't fun.

    After 14 wipes, that is the basic statement my group buddies uttered. They all play MH, so contrary to me, they knew the abilities and stuff.
    Imho, the combination of split second instagibs (thanks to Stun + DoT) in the second phase and the 3rd dead = wipe makes this so damn tedious that I won't even bother. Neither will they, and boy were they hyped up for the proto dragon mount.

    Maybe, with more gear stuff will stop being instagibs and the encounter will be more manageable or maybe SE will tone it down a notch. As of right now, it falls into the category of "not woth my time because needlessly frustrating".

    BTW: we are all savage raiders, currently progressing on God Kefka, so while certainly not hardcore elite, we aren't keyboard turners either.

    Run as soon as he turns toward you. Do not try to finish a cast, just run. Always keep your eyes on the boss, never stand in front of him, ever.
    His animations and tells are easily enough to decipher, the problem is, that if you are busy casting and not looking at him, he WILL surprise and instagib you.

    Tedious and unfun, considering FF-XIVs game mechanics are basically incompatible: absolutely.
    Unfair and luck based: not really. Not as range DPS anyway.
