I transferred to Ultros (a preferred server) and do not have the road to 60 buff

Did I misread something? I am under the impression I am supposed to have this buff on my new character?

Unfortunately, transferring to a preferred world does not grant the Road to 60 buff. This buff is only given if you create a character on a preferred world. We apologize for any confusion on the matter.

Is there anything that can be done about it? I created a profile on lamia back when it was a preferred world and I wanted to play with some friends and so I recommended that we all go to ultros to get the buff. So I had it and now it's gone, very sad days.
