If I make a mule, and then set its server to be the one my main will be on, could I potentially be forced to change my main character's name?

After the merge, if two or more characters with the same first and last name exist in the same World, only one character can keep the name, based on the order of priority below.

1. Characters that are playable on both March 26 (Monday) and March 27 (Tuesday), 2012.
2. Characters that were created first.

From what I'm reading here, so long as I play with Mule on March26th and March27th, and then log in with my main, who was also selected to be on the same server, I will be forced to change my name based on that priority?

No rule 2 means: who ever had the name longer will keep it others forced to change, it goes off what date you made the character.

If only it were that easy. "The character must be playable" means that the character must be paid for, basically. The character with the earliest creation date will keep the name, so unless your mule was created first with the same name, it will be the one changing.

If you are very intent on changing your name, there may or may not be clues here that could lead you to a possible solution. However there also may be risks involved..
