    Male Au Ra voice options

I'm making a male Au Ra alt, and have to pick a voice for him, but some of the choices are a bit odd.

I narrowed it down to either #9 or #12, but the "laugh" and "cheer" noises for those two voice sets sound like they've been switched around.

[#9 cheer] and [#12 laugh] sound like the voice I want for my character.

[#12 cheer] and [#9 laugh] both sound like the same person trying to do a fake deeper voice.

Also the [#12 yes] noise sounds more like a "no" to me!

Anyway, is anyone using either of those voices for their character? How do the rest of their voice effects compare to the samples in the character creator?

    Thanks for any help.

Looking forward to getting him started properly! I like his emotes from what I can access in the creator. Seems like a fun character. That gawky dance and his bewildered reaction if I change his costume at the job select screen!

Sorry that my reply isn’t the help you were looking for, but as someone with many alts, I feel like this is a bit of a problem throughout a lot of the voices and not just the ones you mentioned. For example, my miqo’te originally started with a different voice until a friend recommended another that initially didn’t sound so good to me on the sample list. Ultimately I did switch as I felt it suited her more but it also means I have to completely avoid certain emotes either because they sound outright odd or just completely unfitting to the other emotes. It’s like the voice actors changed charisma entirely for certain gestures, so while my character sounds a little on the deeper side, not too unlike Y’shtola, things like /laugh or /happy make her suddenly sound like a hyperactive, giggling schoolgirl.

Also at least one of the battle noises bugs me but I got used to it.

Thanks. I never did get used to my own main character’s battle grunts actually - so I ended up muting all the voices to stop hearing it. (Which kind of makes the problem of choosing a voice irrelevant to me anyway... but other people are still going to be able to hear him!)

It’s weird that the voices are inconsistent. It seems like it should be an easy thing to check. Still, I have to wonder if those two voice clips (and maybe some others, from what you’re saying) got swapped around somehow.
