When a lot of us went through ARR and HW, we couldn't just go straight through due to actual levels. We didn't have a bonus to make it much quicker. Everyone has to grind at some point.

In the menu, go to Duty > Recommendation, open it everytime you are in a new area, it will show you everything you can do in an area, quest with + sign will always be on top. I think that it's even set to auto pop by default when ever you go into a different area. Like what most have said it used to flow naturally, but since players been complaning about too much dungeons during MSQ, it was remove so yeah, it's the players that wanted those dungeon to be optional rather than part of the MSQ.I'll stop complaining here and go figure out where these dungeons are, how to unlock them and how to progress. I have absolutely no idea how to do any of that. I do appreciate the help and guidance that has been given here and none of this was meant to make anyone here feel badly. Except for the people making the game who thinks this is ok. It's not. This is jarring and disjoints the whole experience. It could and should have been done better.
So, even though the msq sends you near an optional dungeon and even mentions it during that part of the msq and puts the unlock quest starter right next to the msq continue npc what I'm hearing is people ignored it? I just don't get it. Yes you don't have to do it in order to proceed in the MSQ, but it's wagon car is hooked up to the msq until that point in the story where it detaches it's self. All because someone took a huge chunk out of the coffers.
