They do listen to suggestions from the forums, but there are two problems. One is the lesson learned from Cataclysm in that players will always know less about a game than devs will. The other is that what suggestions they do get, they only get the ideas for them on a surface level and then try to reshape it from XI to XIV, and it never seems to end well unless there's some better source of inspiration.
....except now, looking at Eureka, I'm more hard-pressed to find myself believing that devs for this game know more than the players now.
They really ought to make chaining more rewarding if they're trying to push it as the primary way of gaining EXP by nerfing the NM spawn rate so badly. I never really was a fan of the train and like that they're actually trying to encourage being active in Eureka both through that and by making the relics require monster kills, though.
On a related subject, I rather like the whole random factor of certain monsters occasionally adapting/mutating by becoming gigantic or changing into something else entirely.
I'll use an extremely basic suggestion that I've seen countless times and we still don't have. ZNM. VwNM. Empyrean Weapon NMs. Whatever you want to call it, in short: poppable NMs. There's really no excuse for not being able to translate this into any game. And yet we don't have anything like it. Instead, they've done nothing but double down on this game's version of NMs, The Hunt, which is nothing more than a zerg, and suffers from complaints from both sides of the spectrum of content-doers: small groups and large groups. They do listen to suggestions from the forums, but there are two problems. Poppable NMs allows for content to be done with a large group, but not too large, or even as small as you want, without the need of creating an instance for it, and without interference from other players. You could even have a system in which you have to track down, i.e., actually hunt the beast. It allows for the NMs to have interesting mechanics. It solves pretty much all of the issues that The Hunt has. And yet here we are, 4 years later, and nothing.
No, I dare say, they are not listening to suggestions.
I spent a full lockout in Eureka last night and I only heard of one NM spawning and then they complained about not having enough to kill it so they gave up.
Ya'll doing anemos for the weekly challenge log, what are you killing for Sprites and Ashkin that have to be equal to or greater than your level?
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
JLevel 29 and a half no life here. I think pagos is over tuned. It seems to be double the work of anemos for seemingly less rewards. No new mounts or minions, only recycled glamour which is a neat set made for all classes but still its recycled.
Nms are a great deal harder to spawn. The grind is real, we've gone a whole lockout and only saw one nm. The Ash dragon especially can take over 2 hours of killing mobs. I wonder if they were hoping to prevent "the train" by offering these cold-locked boxes than are random drops from mobs. However in the entire time to 29 I've only seen 3 drop to other people. They don't seem to have "special" rewards in them either. Just the same crap.
The bunny side story seemingly is for nothing. Of course they might tie into the last quest at 35 but so far, nothing. We followed one for 15minutes across the map and one person got a quick arm V. Not worth it.
No magicite at all or mount allowance at 30.
I dunno guys... I don't think people are going to like this. Unless you no life it hard, the whole thing is like treading water. Very little reward for a LOT of work. I raid so even the weapon is glamour for me right now.

I heard someone say that the Fossil Dragons that spawn Fafnir can be used for the Ashkin Challenge Log. Haven’t tried it myself to confirm though.

There are level 20-22 brobinyaks in the area in front of the base camp that work well for the latter achievement. The demons that range from 24-27 and spawn in droves at night also count towards the log, despite technically not being undead.
As far as sprites go, they tend to mostly be in the further reaches of the zone, but as usual, only show up during a weather effect of some sort.
Finding a group for both would be the best bet, since you're bound to have trouble trying to solo the sprite achievement.
