Further exacerbating the leveling issues:

The map split between north (30+) and south (20-30) in terms of NMs. It’s more prevalent now since there’s a much larger amount of level 30+ folks who can port right up to majority of the NMs that spawn there while mid-high 20s folk have to hoof it from the main base and pass by all the patrolling mobs and sleepy dragons.

Had King Athro or whatever spawn in an instance last night. Returned to base 30-40 seconds after it spawned, got there with zero deaths and it was already at 60%. Almost reminiscent of my S rank hunting days on Balmung.

its not even the fact that it's grind that's the problem it's they botched the actul grind itself first they messed up the most import part of any grind make whatever you get at the end of the grind worth suffer through whatever grind you have to do to get it. pagos isn't worth it right now in the slightest. second after going and sinking some time into grind it's expected to at least feel a little closer to your goal pagos doesn't have that either

You see, you are reminding more and more of the sort of person who, when called out or otherwise shown a mistake, likes to get defensive without addressing the reason someone responded to you in the first place. The same sort of person likes to throw around words like "toxic" and "condescending" because the rest of us DARE to contradict them or their egos and limited world views.

Yes, I asked you a question, twice, and I'm getting more irate at every attempt. It's not toxic to ask you to step outside your self-imposed shell and potentially grow as a result of experience the rest of the world in truth. "Toxic" indicates some level of internal destruction. To that, let me share a little idiom that my mom used to tell my sisters and me as we were growing up: "If you're not busy learning then you're busy dying." Well, what are you learning by refusing to learn from others, and calling other people toxic?

If you think I'm being toxic by pointing out the contradiction between your words and actions, you need to get a grip.

What does it matter if you couldn't chain groups? You could still kill mobs, help the NM spawn faster, and get your XP. The end result is the same: you grind mobs to get XP.

So wait. You're saying that you prefer chaining mobs to the train, but you did the train in Anemos because it was "easier" - even though you could still chain mobs. The train only ever focused on two NMs at one time, and unless you were in a very dried-out instance, there were always other NMs up to be spawned. You could have just found another 7 people who also loved chaining (and if you couldn't find 7 other people then maybe that's an indication that your love is not widely shared?) and gone to town, away from the train. There were even tons of difficult mobs that had nothing to do with the NMs if that was what you wanted. So basically, "props to SE for forcing me to do the longer thing that I say I liked more because I didn't have the personal willpower to stay away from the "easy" route".

That's your fault, not ours. Call us "toxic" and throw out ad hominem attacks as much as you like, but it doesn't change the fact that the way you played in Anemos was your choice, and you still had the choice to do otherwise (which, by the way, I know was possible and effective because I did it several times when we brought in newbies who needed a few levels before they could viably join the train.)

"just find another 7 people" LOL. Every single time I went into anemos, the first thing I'd ask was if anyone was grinding mobs. From the very start, the only answer I ever received was crickets chirping. I would have far preferred to have been grinding mobs between fates as I hate just standing about doing nothing, but the opportunities for that were few and far between. I soloed some just for the hell of doing something, but it was no way to progress. Same with pagos, it's proved impossible to go into it and join a party. In both cases with the death penalty, soloing gets you exactly nowhere, and can end up with you going backwards (which is ironic for relic content that is supposed to be for the casual players who don't have the times/schedules for doing savage raids)

I'm just waiting for my house to demo so I can collect my gil and am planning to cancel my sub at that point. This most recent patch confirmed to me SE has no intention of doing more than the minimum needed to call what they release a patch and any thought about providing story or decent quests are long gone.

Yeah I'm waiting for my sub to run as well. The grind is far to unrealistic and I believe that Yoshi has lost his touch. I'm only lvl 23 and so far the story can be summed up as "I need this. Oh you got me this. Okay now leave me alone and come back later with another one of these" Krile. Probably the laziest attempt at a lore and the lack of a mount, even though we just got it at lvl 17 in the previous area is the last straw for me.

SE and Yoshi P, you failed the players. No story, no fun and no reason to do this content.

Some people want to grind. There is a great deal of old school mmo nostalgia that goes with it.

And some don't. If this was some optional zone where people want to go back to 1999 and do their thing, then fine. But they tied our relic to it. That's the biggest issue. We have no choice but to do content we hate.
