What I wonder is, do people think FFXI's leveling concepts were a fun part of the game? I am a FFXI veteran from 2003-2010 (casual post 2010), and there was never a day I thought to myself that camping mobs and grinding myself to insanity was fun. This is essentially what Pagos is mixed in with an occasional NM hunting.

If they really wanted to bring something from FFXI over, they should of brought some of Sky/Sea like concepts into the mix.

Lets use Sky for example's sake.

-No elemental level. Just put everyone at an ilvl cap.

-Use the concept of FATE's, guildleves, roaming NM's, challenge logs, and an NPC that gives you objectives to obtain seals for Byakko, Genbu, Susaku, and Seiryu. Say you need to collect 99 seals. The content you participate in gets you 3-5 seals. Once you get 99 Byakko seals, you can unlock the Faction NM guildleve to fight Byakko. Have a reward incentive for other players who join as they give a good amount of seals.

-After you obtain all four seals, you can spawn the fight with Kirin, or make it an instance fight similar to ARR's Chimera and Hydra.

Sure flaws can be pointed out in my idea, but it does at least brings what was arguably the fun parts of FFXI into the game while not taking away the core concepts of FFXIV.
