This to me is all the more reason why devs shouldn't use FFXI-inspired content. If they can't do it right, they really shouldn't do it at all.
But you had said that the suggestions should not be taken seriously. The problem is that they aren't listening to the suggestions. If they were, they would have gotten it right.
They do listen to suggestions from the forums, but there are two problems. One is the lesson learned from Cataclysm in that players will always know less about a game than devs will. The other is that what suggestions they do get, they only get the ideas for them on a surface level and then try to reshape it from XI to XIV, and it never seems to end well unless there's some better source of inspiration.
....except now, looking at Eureka, I'm more hard-pressed to find myself believing that devs for this game know more than the players now.

Literally Anemos, I hoped they would have looked at the problems people had with Anemos and tried to adjust the content accordingly, to make it a more enjoyable experience overall.
Too bad its literally just the same dull grind we already did, at this point I'm just losing faith in Squares ability to deliver meaningful content outside of raids. HoH was okay, but even that was just PotD with a fresh coat of paint.
Can't wait to see the next super exciting step in Eureka.
I have today off work and wanted to get started on it but I think im going to wait a day or two for the NM train to be established and grind out the monster hunter gear instead.

I got level 22 with the Challenge Log fairly quickly, but after that the content is worthless. I see no reason to join EXP chain parties because even with the adjusted increased chain EXP, the monsters give minuscule EXP and take too long to kill. Despite barely getting any EXP, a group I joined was killing NM placeholders 5+ levels above us. After an hour of effort, the EXP bar had barely moved and Ash Dragon was still a no show.
It's not that it's not instant gratification. I don't need instant gratification, but I do need progression to feel reasonable. After finishing the Challenge Log, nothing about Pagos has felt reasonable. Continuing to play this content in this fashion would be like bashing my head against a wall and expecting different results over time. I'm not ready for that headache. Maybe after a week when the NM trains start up, things will become more bearable. Until then, I'll continue to focus on just the challenge log EXP. When I did that, atleast I felt like I was making progress.
SO MUCH THIS. They should have made the challenges unlimited with them steadily increasing in amount of XXX needed to kill. This would actually reward the grind.I got level 22 with the Challenge Log fairly quickly, but after that the content is worthless. ive been thinking what to say here n i just have no answer this is so bad i cant even try to defend it its so bad ._.

Pagos seems worse than Anemos so far. My day one experience in Anemos I got multiple levels and some items like glamour and a minion. Day one in Pagos I got squat, not even one level and like three garbage materia from lockboxes.
I'm not sure what the point of those treasure fates is, since nobody wants to touch them.
People are complaining that they just did the same thing again, but I wish they had instead of making it significantly less rewarding.
