Server Merge - Figaro

This is mainly for all of Figaro. I'm not well known, but I'm the leader of Ass Kickers Anonymous. AKA is mainly a social linkshell, some events here and there, but more importantly, we're all good friends. Many of us have friends/acquaintances through a few or several linkshells. In a sense, most linkshells are chained together through it's members.

SE announced that the server transfers during the merge is the player's choice. Granted in a way this may help some players, but with limited ways of communication, this will split up many.

I thought it might be a good idea, at least for the linkshell masters, to join together in possibly joining in the decision of the new server as a server community. Please post and share your thoughts/plans. Thank you (If your linkshell leader doesn't check Lodestone forums often, please get them to join this conversation!)

AKA's plans: We haven't had much discussion yet, since this just posted yesterday, but soon we'll be having a meeting to discuss the merge. I will keep adding our thoughts in this thread and edit this part.

My wife has talked to members of quite a few LSes, and the general consensus seems to be that most will be registering for World #6. Figaro is 6th on the list, and 6 is not likely to be chosen by those with no real preference as it isn't a very significant number (like 1,5,10) and it's not generally regarded as a very lucky number (like 3 or 7). So... you should come to World 6, because I'd hate to make Moby choose between TPS and AKA.

Not sure where NI is going yet. I'd prefer to be on a mostly EST server for recruitment and PUG purposes, but for some strange reason (XI nostalgia) that seems to be an unpopular concept.

This is a different game, in a different time, in a different world, and I really feel like the organizing efforts between now and March 1st are gonna go by the wayside for the NA community. The EU, spanish, and ger/french populations are small enough that they can get things done and pick their servers, but the NAs are split on how to pick. The JPs are gonna hide behind their walls and go to JP-only servers I bet, but the NAs are holding onto this idea that they need to be on international servers. Nice idea but unless the populations are spread across all time zones fairly even, I don't see that working.

If Figaro itself decides to go with 6, we may just do that, but we're keeping our options open and analyzing the spread until then.

Wow really? Some of us are just trying to keep most of our friends and ties together because we enjoy it. If you want to be part of it, cool, if not, also cool, then good luck to you. I'm looking out for the best interests of my linkshell and it's current members and that also includes a few other linkshells. I like the Figaro community how it is right now, it'd be sad if all of it was broken up, might as well conserve what we can for those who agree.

The best interest is different for each linkshell. We're end game and would like a larger pool of players interested in that that play in our time zone y'know? Different priorities is all. We may end up on the same server after all, who knows

I would love if we can all decide where to go as a server since I think it would be very sad for friends to have to be separated. Especially Real life ones! So, I think that getting together like this to decide is a great idea and am willing to go with whatever server we decide on. That being said, Our LS is a bit special since we literally have people from all over the world in it, so it might take a bit of effort to get everyone to agree to something. Here's hoping that everything works out~

(I was thinking of 3 originally since it's my favorite number but I like 6 too >_>)
