I'm trying to make a look for a lalafell that would make it hard for anyone to tell if it a boy or a girl. I seem to have trouble deciding on what hairstyle I should go with. Any thought on a gender-neutral character?

Honestly?
Just... pick a non-super girly hairstyle and you'll be fine. I've had a couple cases where someone thought Jiji was a girl, even though my hairstyle is literally used by a male.
If you interact with any non-main lalafell players, they will have no idea of your gender unless you're wearing specific clothing. Because other races can't tell the different between a boy lala and a girl lala.
Hmm, do the dice gods really care what hairstyle their sacrifice has? I didn't think that had a bearing on the taste of it's soul...
As said, any shorter hairstyle without super-cute on/it will probably work.
You should keep in mind to pick a gender-neutral title aswell! Or no title at all - keep in mind that a lot of titles appear genderneutral in english, but not in other languages, like german. We really love to gender everything and most of the time I use the title to tell wether a lalafell is male or female.
I'm surprised that potatoes have gender.
This is totally not true!
But if you're wearing a helmet that covers your hair and face, and have an ambiguous name, and using the default idle stance both genders have, then yes, I'll have trouble. xP
Ehh i mean most of the people i know can't tell the difference anyhow unless there's an outfit or something that defines it for us.
For characters with lore-accurate names, you can also instantly tell their gender (and clan) by their name because they have different set structures.
...with the odd exception of Pipin, who has a Plainsfolk name (Pipin Tarupin) but only uses the first half of it, so it looks like a female Dunesfolk name!
male lalas are really goofy emotes so they stand out even if you go full hooded robe look
